This relay seems to be out of production.

Speedster/VX220 number A116M0032, and lotus number B116M0032F

(elise-shop says it's in backlog at lotus)

 

Has anybody ever peeled off that red sticker to see if there is a parts number under it?

Red sticker says it's from MetaSystem, but my gutt feeling says it's generic.

Anybody ever took it apart to find parts numbers?

Got to be a vauxhall bit surely? Used be in the footwell in normal vauxhalls/opels next to the ECU when I were a lad. Can't imagine any reason it'd be entirely different.

K18 brown , ecu

K24 yellow , starter motor  ( think its a typo on "K14" on the guide )

K16 grey , fuel pump

turbo has another 4th relay

 

all 3 grey bosch , apart from the Lotus special yellow one

just looking at the wiring diagram, there was a typo on the forum that labelled the yellow relay as K14 , wiring diagram says its K24.

 

pin 5 and 3 are switched by relay

 

pin 5 , BN , "205" FL4 40A

pin 3 , BNRD , Z20LET [ X4 BNRD , X34 BNRD , pin 50 M1 ]  or Z22SE [ X1 BNRD , pin 50 M1 ]

 

pin 4 , GN , "141" FB7 10A

pin 2 , BK , Ground

pin 6 , WHRD , pin 1 S124 , pin 2 S124 , BK Ground ]

pin 9 , WHBK , Ignition switch barrel via Z20LET [  pin 20 ECU X31 ] or Z22SE [ pin 9 ECU X21 ]

Fuel pump relay is the brown one.

 

But, I wish the yellow one was the same height as a normal relay. Would make life much easier to re-site them in a new waterproof relay holder.

My bad, it's been a while. Surely the engine electrics are GM gear though?

Nah, this is definitely not a standard GM thing. Much more likely (especially given it's a Meta) to be part of an aftermarket alarm/immobiliser setup.

It's so custom, that our version has metasystem labeling, and the lotus one has lotus labeling.

Key to find out here if it's just rebadging/stickering, or real custom work.

Are you brave enough to remove the yellow container and peek inside?

its pin 9 on the relay base which is the mystery one, but could easily be bypassed

I rewired mine and use a grey relay instead, all the yellow relay does is stop the 'starter' button from working once the engine is running

 

But you do need to remember not to push the button when the engine is running

Tried. Bent terminal later. Not trying further.

But the grey relay can be swapped as is, for an emergency to get back home? (without any rewiring?)
