So this is finished:

Put it back in the car and painted the bonnet hinge:

Spent ages figuring out where this goes until I realised it was for the washer bottle

Put bonnet on single handed which was a mission

Now the heater hot/cold knob works and it kicks out loads of very hot air, like the amount you would get from a regular car and the air is very hot :)

The heater fan doesn't work on the lowest setting, doesn't bother me as I don't recall ever using that setting in my old car and setting two is fairly low anyway.

I get a lot more air on the drivers side dash for some reason?

I'm not very please with the VX220 parts wiper arm because it catches on the plastic scuttle and I had to cable tie the tube to the bottom as you can see in the photo - if you look carefully enough. Before I cable tied it, the tube would rub along the window.

Here is a video:

Not sure whether to cut the scuttle or reroute the pipe somehow. The advert for the wiper arm said it was a complete unit for the VX220.

First part of the steering wheel done, before anyone comments on quality, this is the first time I've done it and requires a lot of patience.

You may laugh but 1" high density foam is actually really comfortable, holds you quite snug in the seat even before I've cut it. I've got 1/2" foam on order in two different densities to figure out which on is best.

I have an idea to trim the seats with some actual padding.

I have re-routed the VX220 parts screen wash wiper tube so it doesn't bend and catch the scuttle. Also I had to use the old plastic over the wiper arm nut as the new one had a gromet that was catching the scuttle.

My throttle cable has now been replaced courtesy of Vocky and is now spot on, my gas pedal feels very smooth.

However my engine is still not running right, as you can see from the video, I have posted this video elsewhere to see if anyone would recognise the issue.

I forgotten about this thread as I've been posting queries or other things in places I thought was more relevant. So here is some pictures of what I have done to the car since my last post.

Finless tat, love it!

Personally retrimmed my steering wheel, I've done a how to guide if you're interested - http://www.vx220.org...steering-wheel/

Old steering wheel:

Got rid of some undertray rattles by putting foam in certain places:

Posted Image20160903_165600 by Richard Fanders, on Flickr

I've also replaced the throttle cable, coolant temperature sensor and throttle positioning sensor (TPS). I'm having a hard time getting the TPS to return to it's idle voltage despite replacing it so I'm going to get help from Alan Collins and may even get the engine completely remapped, I'm wary of doing this as I love how it drives above 2000rpm and don't want to lose that but the low rpm driving is a bit tiring and I spend most my time there as I use it as an everyday car during the weekends and evenings so I need to get it sorted.

It's been on the road since the middle of July and I've done nearly 2000 miles, I love it the more the longer I own it, can't see myself selling this one anytime soon.

Next up, fix the roof once I've tidied my flat.

As a temporary measure I've put the foam behind the leather before I get a chance to retrim the seats. I have to say the seats are very comfortable like this, can't understand why they didn't add foam padding from the factory and instead stupid lumber things.

Doesn't look great but it will stop me wanting to sell the car from back and chest pains (the main reason I sold my first one).
