Hi All,

Birthday has just been and gone, and with it I now have the cills, pockets and dash crossmember panels, so pretty much chuffed with that haul to begin with!

What I would like to know from any of you is when I do the cills to the pockets do you fold the leather back under the ends where the pockets and cill join?  I am trying to work out what would be neater before glueing and cutting etc.

Any thoughts?

Cheers

Tim

The sills are a bit of a bitch, running along the edges is the top stitching where the pieces are joined, this is fine except when it comes to the section where sill meets pocket, because it's two pieces stitched together it created very thick seams, these can not be folded over the ends. I ended up gluing the ends of the seems in place right to the very edge and then using a sharp blade to cut the excess off. The leather just goes to the end of the plastic. A bit hard to explain.

Thanks Pezley, I think I might try and fold under after bonding the top and letting it dry, but I think I will try and cut the stiched bit back for the fold under and maybe thin the leather a bit too... Worth a shot to get rid of the cut edge perhaps?

On a second note, what did you use to stick the cills back down with?  I am thinking either 3M tape or Sikaflex?

Thanks

Tim
