ECU off and ready to be shipped to Peter. Inside the sockets there seemed to be a very fine film of oil like wd40. Is this normal? I assumed its some sort of corrosion inhibitor or something.

This thread may be a bit overkill with the pics but my plan is to catalogue everything and make things a little easier for the next person that decides to have a go :)

Why remove the sills cover? I'm pretty sure I left mine on (but it's a long time since I converted mine so I may be wrong).

When you remove the sill cover there is a hole towards the front which you can get your hand down into. Should make it a lot easier bringing the pipes through to the two holes drilled in the wheel arch. I figured the extra access may be useful.

Does anybody know if I need to remove or modify the part arrowed in order for the cc rad to fit? I assume its just stuck onto the crash box.

Remove the left and right parts. middle arrow remains (and is the crash box anyway)

The germans only dremel off part of those side things. (no pictures)

UK removes them completely.

Thanks both.

I assume they are just glued on. Without knowing where to cut or how much to remove it may be easier to just remove them completely and work from there. UK style haha

Not been able to find any grommets wider than 1.6mm so I've ordered some 4mm vacuum hose to go round the holes where the pipes come through the wheel arch. Hopefully it works out ok.

I'm looking forward to this being finished and having a pax ride in it. Maybe a drag race, would be interesting to see how much faster soup is over my musical engine.

Quite a lot! At least you won't be able to hear him disappear over the horizon.

I don't think anybody will be able to hear anything over the supercharger and a VSE that I have fitted. Its going to be a bit loud I think.

Good to see you again yesterday Gaffer, will definitely drive it over for a pax ride once its all done. Lovely sound from the itb's on yours.

Hmm, I have a feeling to 40mph I may stand a chance as we're at the slip limit anyway and I don't have to change gear.

Good to see you too, I'll look forward to it. Let me know if you need any help (although I'm probably not the most skilled yet).

Cheers mate, I will keep it in mind. Let me know if you need a hand with that oil change. I've got the tools required.

I was having a look at the new intake manifold the other day and noticed that the extra bit of pipe on the original plastic manifold is not present.
I'm not sure what this bypass does but I'm guessing I need to mak up some sort of plate to blank of the hole left behind.

Found a picture on here to illustrate. Is there a plate available somewhere I do I just have to make my own?

Thanks

That is where the egr routes it's crap back into the manifold.

If your egr is allready deleted/disabled nothing will come out of there. Then just make your own blaninking plate for cosmetic reasons.

That is for the EGR valve which can be deactivated in OBD Tuner.
