So your history of VXs is - bought Richies old car from philliptreewalker for cheap, and quickly sold it on for a profit, then bought this turbo, to quickly sell on for a profit.

Nothing wrong with that but being transparent about it will make things a whole lot easier and people trust you a whole lot more.

:yeahthat:

So what did you have to do to the paintwork? Full respray? Front end blowover? Just a detail?

Hang on, i would like to state I didn't buy Richie's car to sell on at all, I spent a lot of money on that car making it mine, the whole car was pretty much re painted , removing spoiler, buying carbon bits , re wiring the rear. I made a big loss. So would appreciate you not jumping to conclusions. I bought a bike engined single seater and no longer needed a track car. Bloody witch hunt now.

No witch hunt from me, just interested to know what you had to do to the car.

Whether you made big bucks or nothing that's none of my business. GLWTS.

Sorry, I had the front clam removed on this car and painted , rest of car detailed, both sills repaired and painted. All new brakes. Fuel leak fixed and new battery and alternator and belt. That is what I have done with the turbo. And I didn't say that, I bought this cause it was cheap no other reason. I didn't want another VX at the time. I was half torn to modify or sell so I sold. End of story.

There is no need to apologise, any Lotus variant is a sound investment in this day and age.  Many would have done the same if you didn't get there first...

If this is the car in question it looks like a good one and it is reasonably priced. GLWTS!

Wish I had an opportunity of making an easy 4k, respect for beating us all to it 👍, can't understand why everyone is so bothered?

It might be because some feel burned thE they missed out on doing the same. It was obvious what was about to happen the minute the thread was posted. Realistically I had expected Jon or Luke to have picked it up, as this had the hallmarks of a future trader sale. Time to let water under the bridge and move on. If the car is not being broken for parts and makes someone happy so be it. Too much negative press will leave this car stuck with an owner who won't use it.... that is a travesty in its own way. These are cars to be used regularly and far far too many are just tucked away like prized possessions.

Some people just like to stir and create a little drama. Fair play to the guy, he beat me to it and I was pretty quick.

The issue for me as a potential buyer was the lack of transparency from the seller which put me off viewing as he is  some distance away. I knew that from the posts on here that he had brought cheaply  and like many assumed partly due to the asking price and the work he has  done to prepare the car  that  he was a trader( which I know is not the case).  If any of  that bothered me I wouldn't of contacted him in the first  place.

When I first posted on here responding to post in respect of the  reemergence of this car I alluded to the lack of transparency. I didn't spell it out as I didn't want to stir. Merely to make any other potential purchasers aware of my experience. I wasn't  and dont  think anybody else was aware that the car had brought by a member of the forum at this stage

Mike subsequently reveal himself on here as the vendor and  only then did I detail my concerns. Mike subsequently  apologised  on here for not telling the complete truth, as he thought the truth would put me off the car. Ironically it was quite the opposite. But as you say thats water under the bridge.

,As I said before I may be completely anal and fully accept that I could be missing out a great opportunity by not viewing. I  wish Mike every success in his sale and hope he makes sufficient  profit to make it all worthwhile.
