We can do a full suspension refresh if your interested. All bushes, ball joints, drop links, removed and re-installed, wishbones powdercoated (or what ever coating you want) dont know the price off hand and jon is with a customer atm but its about £650 drive in drive out.. we can also do it by post, if youbsend us your complete wishbones you get fully completed set sent back. if you search doctored i think thats his username he has some pics of some we did for him in germany. Its an option. :)

Chris - Likely to be in touch once the weather breaks next year.

If I post you set of my old crusties, how long would you expect the turn around to be?

Cheers

Your right. Its not. Lol. The 650 is the postal price, drive in drive out is 950ish.

£650 is still a very good price for a full wishbone overhaul, ball joints are about £270 for a set, plus bushes and powder coating etc thumbsup

Stick with Lotus original bushes, or the higher durometer rubber bushes that ChrisUK /Jonnyboy can source. Polybushes have a shaky history on these cars.

Think there is a bit of the forum myth about using non oem bushes. Generally groupthink of don't do it rather than people who have done so having any issues. Anecdotal photos of rusty sleeves and sucking through teeth etc. Mine were fine and I believe still are. Ertacetal. Felt great too. Marine greased.

Superpro polybushes are the ones you hear about bein squeaky but if you grease them up correctly then it doesnt seem to be a problem... But with that said i would still get the oem ones, mine have been on the car for neigh on 6 years and not an issue as yet.. Im actually replacing them as part of my suspension refresh this winter so if you want them you can have them.

If you were talking to me? Maybe I'm guilty of being presumptuous here?? Thanks a lot, that's a very kind offer, however I forgot to mention I have a full set of OEM bushes which were in the boot when I bought the car. I was asking what the general concenous was on bushes as I didn't want to go fitting them and then find out OEM bushes are a no no. Reading so far it's looking like 50/50 poly bush v's original rubber, so no great advantage either way.

Poly bushes are not 'fit and forget', they need regular re-greasing if the car is used all year round. So OEM would be the better choice if that is how your vx is used.

Poly bushes are not so bad for a dry weather only car, mine are still okay after many years of use and have not required re-greasing yet.

yes, but im sure you would get enough for your old wishbones to cover VAT and the difference in the cost to have them refurbed,

im also guessing the prices above are plus VAT
