Well, despite being a rolling road block for the most of the day, I enjoyed it loads (especially when it dried out a bit!). Good to see Joe, Mark and Goose again, and good to meet Russell, Simon, Malcolm, Mark and Mark.   I might change my name to Mark.   And sort my rear tyres.   And grow a pair again..!!

Good to meet you Strugs (even if you didn't mention me above...!). And I agree with the sentiment. Track days are always better when there's a .org presence, especially when mechanical failure occurs and Batman & Robin swoop to the rescue! Joe, hope the burn is healing OK. My exhaust manifold smelled of burning skin all day!

What was the airfield day mentioned by a few today? Or any other track day training preferably SE based.

Just under 2 hours. The one at North weald is £220 with 3 others for track training and fully booked until July. Can't find track training at Abingdon, only track days. Would love to find something in march.

The Carlimits course is just that, learning the limits of the car (and yourself). Motorsport Events, who run the track days at Abingdon, have really good instructors for teaching track driving. They're two different things really, and I'd recommend both.. 👍

Car limits do an activity day which is a similar thing but with lots more cars so the cost is lower (around £45).

Looks like there's a Lotus On Track one in April but no idea if they have any spaces left...: http://www.carlimits...&month=20170401

Video from the Caterham.

It went well but the straight cut gears, race clutch and lumpy engine do not work well at slow speeds, hence jerking out the pits (stop sniggering at the back)

You need to book through LOT directly, lots of spaces left on 28th April. But you need to join LOT (worth it IMHO if you're going to track the VX).

Hi Kevin, That looks great, what's it like compared to the vx? I've been trying to get my mate take his Raw Striker on track. Mark

If you want to do a training day held by people who actually know how to teach properly and at a decent facility (Millbrook) then do a CAT driver training day. It is far better than Car Limits.

They do days where there's around six of you thats cheaper. You get what you pay for. If you want to drive one corner on a car park full of gravel and coat hangers from last weeks market then do a Car Limits day. I seem to remember someone on here (possibly Martin s) came away with a wire coat hanger sticking out of the side of their tyre. Dont like Car Limits days and I dont like the teaching "technique"
