With the original coilpack and sparks getting corroded in storage, is it safe to say storage was damp?

With the original corosion problem, the next thing to check are the connectors behind the header tank.

the easiest method of checking that you have an oem coilpack is there will be a white sticker where the badge goes

Have you checked the battery terminals are clean and tight? I know it feels like I am clutching at straws but I've heard of stranger things...

New coil pack etc went in but it did not fix the car... various sensors got changed and even the chain but the problem was actually the ECU. Rather than pay £1.1k + vat from Vauxhall I bought a 2nd Hand Vectra ECU... this did generate a fuel sensor error code but after a very helpful FB owners group feedback this was fixed. Should anyone want to know what the fix was for the Vectra ECU it was “ They should be using an MDI to use Tis2Web to download the new software (which is actually old software) to turn it into a vx220 controller. This turns off a whole bunch of crap that we don't use in our cars. Then set the variant configuration using tech 2“

Chain,

Labour split across BOT and a main dealer
£2k... could have been a lot worse! But it did take 3.5months..
