you could modify the subframe and use an Opel F40 6 speed gearbox.

 

 

I always wondered if anyone had any pics or other info one this subframe mod..

 

Plus I think the driveshafts are different splined / length, and the gear selector would need modded (similar to an M32 swap)?

people have fitted the F40 to astras, so driveshafts must be interchangeable.

 

Not really sure what the subframe mod is, but I do recall it involves cutting a chunk away to allow the end of the F40 to clear

also the B206 is the nicer block than B204 without balancer shafts

Good point. And the F40 comes in some Vectra's which use the same hub unit, so..

You should talk to Speedsterspeed. 

Look at Rejsa.nu. 

He did this registration to a Speedster NA. 

He did not change the gearbox but more or less all the suspensionparts instead. And the engine. And the braking system.

FYI Phil Hilyard in his B204 based VX220 just won his class at Race Wars 2019, with a 11.9s 1/4 mile time and a 0-60 @ 3.90s!!

 

That's with just 280 or 300 odd HP if I remember correctly.
