My VX had a hard top fitted when I picked it up. Got home and removed the hard top, hasn't been refitted to the car in nearly 4 years.

My latest VX220 "Turbo" came with a hard-top (not fitted but stored in it's bag in the sellers garage) I had no way to get the hard-top home (I went on the train) therefore it was fitted onto the car and I drove home. When I got home it was removed and put back in it's storage bag, I have also never refitted it in 3 years.

I was contemplating another hardtop but it's £600 at least plus paint (most likely) that I would prefer to spend elsewhere.

Oem, the NA was the same silver color as the window band.

The oem turbo one was painted in car color.

20 years later, many have been repainted to fit peoples taste though.

Nope, oem Lightning Yellow ones were always painted in body colour 😛😛

Be sure the fitting kit will actually hold the hard-top on at whatever your max speed is likely to be, I've seen some rather small/weak after market fitments. There have been a few hardtops that have flown off in the past (which is highly dangerous to others obviously).

Hi, thanks for the warning, yes I will. I bought a nice OEM turbo hardtop with a nice fluffy interior 😊 in the end. Very pleased with it, ideal in this weather and seems to cut down the road noise considerably.

I was lucky enough to find one in moonstone which contrasts nicely with my silver VX. Very happy.
