We have messured fuel pressure. It is 4 bar in a standard N/A!

interesting...seems quite high already...
question for the techies:
could this be the reason why Delta-Motor chose to install the extra 2 injectors at the intake, in spite of upping the pressure of the existing 4 ?

The fpr upgrade is required only when attempting to break the 200 bhp barrier, so the ecu remap is essential to get towards that goal anyway :D Trouble is the fuel rail serves as a return rail as well, that is why the fpr is such a pain, if you change it to a simple fuel rail and then move the return pipe, the Aeromotive fpr is perfect, but where do you get a fuel rail from that fits, leaks are too easy, so it has to be a perfect fit :beat: Once an easy solution is found, anyone can upgrade the fpr when required :D

Mind you, if it's already 4 Bar, there should be enough presure available  As for two extra injectors - upgrading the fpr would be required to supply the fuel for them :D

so with my SC kit, (218hp) probably the additional ECU takes care of that then...
my question was more like....why not just upping the pressure instead of adding the 2 injectors....Imnotworthy

The reason is that the standard ECU does not allow you to reduce the injection time below a standard level which would kill your lamda reading for low revs.

In the new HITEC conversion, we have changed the injectors to bigger injectors and have added a new ECU, which is able to REDUCE injection time compared to the standard ECU. On top we increase the pressure by 0.5 bar while SC is in operation. This allows for a 50 higher injection while maintining the lambda=1. And we do not need any additional injectors. More work... but better injection and fuel control.

Just for info, here is a pic of a single fuel rail, notice that the fuel pipes are above the gearbox and that the fuel return pipe fits straight on to the fpr. The car is a Chevrolet Cavilier
