Seems to be a lot of talk about EBC and Pagid but not really any mention of Mintex 1144. I'm running 1144s and the difference between these and EBC is like night and day. They really are in a different league to the EBC Greenstuff. Never tried Pagid but they are twice the price and I find it hard to understand how they could be twice as good. If budget is an option, 1144s might be worth a try (around £100 for a full set).

I have 1144's all round on my car. the difference, compared to standard pads, is phenominal (as it should be).

I was surprised how much noise they make at low speed after being properly used though. Is this normal? may just be the way i fitted them.

Any way two very enthusiastic thumbs up for 1144's thumbsup thumbsup

Mine were noisey for for a few hundred miles but are fine now. I heard people say that they can get noisey if they get a lot of gentle use. Mine got fitted the day before hammering the car round Luxemburg for 1500 miles so they were nicely bedded. Also MK is pretty heavy on the brakes. You need to try harder Jim :P

Yes it is clockwise. They are the biggest bastard of a thing i have ever had to do to a car!

It bent three pairs of needle nose pliers and two circular files. Even with that it took two of us to do each one :beat: :beat: ! Is there a tool for the job?

I have no idea what i would use next time to make it any easier.

Just keep pushing the plunger in and tunring clockwise, they are very very stiff.

Yes, or you could make one yourself for about 50p!!

I used a pair of bent nosed pliers like these:

Seemed to do the trick
