can't fella i am back in teesside now, but got a shock today!!! the insurance were chargin me £200 extra to swop from the streetka to the vx but wen i asked how much to swop to the civic type R they wont insure me :( So i am gettin quotes anywhere from £990 to £616 from norwich union, but i dont know if she has the details right i could hardly understand her........... cheap labour i think the call centre was in india ( by the way im not racist but every call centre nowadays seems to be abroad and its difficult to talk to them at times or get them to understand!) Slightly generalist but u get the drift ? lol Anyway i might ask the honda garage to up the offer on my car to compensate the insurance change? worth a try he can only say no lol

you will find the VX is way cheaper to cover. 1. its not a hot hatch that lots of young ens want 2. its not a hot hatch lots of young ens crash 3. its not a hot hatch 4. there arent many VX's out there 5. there are millions of type R's about 6. VX's are way better so you get a "i know my sh*t" reduction :P

ooh yeh meant to say. suday night i was travelling home via Durham and a black Type R was up my rear clam, i mean so close i couldnt see his headlamps!! it was wet, slippy, so what did he do???? overtook me and the 3 cars infront on a left bend!! he thought he was amazing, his mates were looking out the window as if to say "you can AV him" total idiot!! it was quick as lots of CTR's are but what a prat!! anyway as i droped a friend off i drove home and who do i see?? this prat again, he slowed down and waited till i was closer to him then he gave me brake lights as if to say "want to race" eerr no you MINCER!! anyway to cut a long story short i wanted to get away from him and this was not big in anyway, i put my foot down, overtook (straight road) off onto a B road and within 1 mile he was gone! couldnt keep up at all and it was a bit wet too. so yes the CTR is a good car (even though this one was driven by a Tosser) but when they are pushed on the twisties, they dont cut it, they are a damn good FWD handelling car but nothing on a VX. now picturethat on a dry summer day with A048's and Nitrons with the rooof off!! you tell me what car you want. gotta be the VX every time

By the sounds of it a Civic Type R is probably more for you Sporty. A VX is a very specialist car and its one of those things you either fall for or don't. You clearly haven't and if you are after convenience, practicality, bad boy racer style, fast straight line speed and limited driver feedback then just maybe you have found what you want. Buy a Civic Type R! On the other hand if you want one of the best handling sports cars you can buy for less than £20000, where every drive is a learning experience then give the VX another try. Just bear in mind that VX interiors aren't the best put together, they will have wear and tear, scuffs. Just look at the effort it takes to get in and out. If it gives you bruises its going to also take its toll on the interior. I'm not trying to put you off buying a VX, just want you to be aware that its a very different proposition than anything else other than an elise really. You can't compare it to any Hot Hatches, MR2's, Z3's. Its a completely different kettle of fish! We often get people who make the mistake that it is an MR2 or a TT and expect it to be built like one! These people have not thought about it enough before making the purchase and then never seem to be happy with the car because they 'get scuffed on the centre console' or 'the boot release handle falls off'. To some these are really irritating but to be honest I don't care about the little annoyances like that. I bought the VX to be a pure out and out fun sports car. There it succeeds brilliantly and IMO can not be beaten for the £'s. Get someone to take you out for a drive in a VX, with the roof off, in the sunshine and I'm sure you will be smitten! rallly

1. its not a hot hatch that lots of young ens want(and have)

2. its not a hot hatch lots of young ens crash(and steal)

3. its not a hot hatch(chav mobile)

4. there arent many VX's out there(thank god it stops cnuts nicking them for parts)

5. there are millions of type R's about(and TTs too bring good money when stripped..hence the silly insurance!)

6. VX's are way better so you get a "i know my sh*t" reduction (you will lose a fortune and the type-R and the TT)

I was going to buy a TT, test drove it twice,ex footballers car! he had spent a bundle on it...19"rims, special baseball stiched leather,tv, sat nav.. etc ..etc.
Infact my Vx was the last one i was going to see, and if that was as shite as the last few i had seen, then i was of to Cardiff to but the TT.
But as i mentioned earlier i waited and found a minter of a VX.
Its well worth going out in some ones car from the forum,
exspesh if they are asking ya to
Dont p*ss ya cash away buying a TT or Type-R you will lose a bundle.
And theres thousand of them about!!
Why flock with the seaguls when you can soar like an eagle!!! :D
