ehmmm....I dont think SS give out the figures....well it wouldnt make sense would it

Mani

After I hit a kerb I got Horizon to look at my car as I didn't want to drive it any further than I had to.

Very good, picked the car up from work (Stourbridge), dropped it back and even gave it a clean. I got the impression they really know what there doing with sports cars, however I don't think they have much first hand experience with the VX220.

Mike didn't know how to start it  and when I later took the car to SS I found out he'd given Steve a ring to find out what geo settings to use  . Unsurprisingly Steve didn't give away his "trade secrets", so gave him the standard settings. ;)

Hope that doesn’t put you off ; I got a good vibe from Mike and I'd be happy to go back there for mods / service. thumbsup

Foxy, what are Horizon doing for you?

Call it "Trade secrets" or a bag of bollocks. It doesnt matter.

The car felt better after SS set it up.

I hope you realise I wasn't trying to criticise your comments?

FWIW Horizon have since done the geo and Nitron set-up on my car with superb results...

There is no magic in what they do (AFAIAA :P ) and any reputable company with the right equipment and experience of the VX/Elise should be able to do the same thing...

I agree completely, anyone with the kit could set the car up if they had the right numbers BUT what I persoanlly liked about SS was chatting to people who knew about the cars, knew about racing, track days etc. I knew my pads and front disks were fooked and they sorted me out a full set of SBS pads and a set of re-skimmed front disks, Steve went off and got them skimmed while the pads were fitted (a job I would normally do myself but what the hell while the wheels were off anyway). It was also fun looking at and chatting about the Elise they had prepped that had a "slight fire" at a trackday :o

All in all a good "buying experience" which matters to some folk as much as the price. You pays your money you makes your choice :D

Place in Crewe (Shavington) is ABP Motorsports, just down the road from me. I rang them up, they said they could do the geo if I supplied the settings. :( They charge 120 inc vat. Also asked about fitting a Mitlek, that was £100 inc vat. I guess Horizon is the next closest for me. Foxy, do you need to supply setting info there?

Not if you don't want to. Just tell them what you want/your driving style thumbsup

Give 'em a call - they're very helpful

What is this, battle of the friggin' Mods or something :gayfight: Cor blimey, I remember the days, blah, blah  I'd happily pocket £60 even if I did have to provide a spanner. If you want settings just search on the site, in fact just ring up Vauxhall and ask them as the factory settings would give you the type of reaction that everyone gets after having theirs setup anywhere ffs

A flat driveway, bit of string for the toe and a spirit level and steel rule for the camber. Job done thumbsup ;) Worked for me, although I need someone with scales to sort out the corner weights.
