Has anyone actually SUCCESSFULLY done it yet without it running like a bag of nails or destroying the engine in 4K miles ?

Weren't Courtenay fitting one to their 2.2 VX? Might be worth finding out if it's running yet, although it's probably not great for proving reliability.

So therefore we can conclude that it was crap then ?

You're probably better off asking on the German forums, as I think Hitec have done 6-8 conversions so far over there already.

That was the old delta one - mags996 also had one. The new Hitec one is supposed to be much better and there is a mahoosive thread about it...

I suppose you would have to ask him before any conclusion could be drawn. I believe that more power was the motivation behind switching to a turbocharged engine.

EDIT: would to could

They hadn't got it let alone fitted it when i was there last week.

As Jase says, Ricky's is up and running...if it doesn't eat itself at the Ring this weekend

Ricky's is up and running

It also sounds like a bag of nails and is an on-going project by the sounds of it. My days of tinkering over engines and the car spending more time in the garage are long gone

I'll see how things come along in 6 months time then

Did he go for a tuner kit, or DIY?

Cheers, Paul.

Maggs has had his car up and running for over a year now and it has many track days under its belt. I saw him at an RMA track day giving a GT3 an incredibly hard time and it sounded spot on. :D The Courtenay-Hitec developed second gereration supercharger has been fitted to at least 6 cars by Hitec with no issues, and is absolutely superb to drive according to Alex who had the first car converted by Hitec. Jon at Courtenay's has also been out in the new supercharged car and said that it was excellent. From talking to them I gather there are no runing issues and that Courtenays have several cars booked in for the conversion. I understand that due to the popularity of the conversion in Europe it was taking Hitec longer to get the kits put together for shipping to the UK. I understand the first kit is already on its way to the UK. thumbsup thumbsup

From what I understand from the various threads (including the mahoosive one), is the Hitec kit not based around GM aftermarket products built for the engine?

Built for the 2.0 LSJ engine which is based on the 2.2. The 2.2SC kit from GM has not yet materialised.

Cheers, Paul.
