Ricky?

He had the Delta-Motor kit and it ran dry of oil and seized. :o

The 2.0 crate engine seem like a good alternative to me, if it is possible to get a matching ECU/standalone.

It is a tested product from GM based on the bulletproof SAAB engine.

still running strong at 218hp, and...so far so good at the Ring....
overall the hitec package is the way to go...better screwed togheter and metallic intake manifold instead of the stock, reworked plastic one that delta uses....

...had next to me a 240hp VXT and he could not pass me... :P

So now you are using the Hitec kit, based on the 2.0 engine? Is that a dynoed 218 HP? I know you have the Komo-tec backbox and a exhaust manifold that would give something over the standard stuff. Also, have you considered for ex the piper 266° cams. Or is the wise way to only increase the pressure?

Bing.... I have done the Hitec conversion (stage 2).... to 242 HP ! (last month) B) Could not expand much on the subject as my first baby-boy arrived last week and is keeping me busy (along with my wife :) )... Any way, I have done the trip back to France, one trip to Spa (including some laps on the track), and some driving in Paris... Except for one MIL (on my way back from Spa) which I cleared with my PDA/Scantool no pb at all... I'll try to do a report later on all the process (Hitec, feelings, cost ....) :borg:

Shiny, mines going in to Courtney on the 7th of May, i will keep everyone posted as to it's reliability (fingers crossed, from all the info i've read and been told it sounds about as bullet proof as the 2.2 it's bolted to.) . thumbsup

Only do about 7000 miles a year so it may take a while for longterm issues to arise. :)

The Stage two with full Milltek system is going to cost me £5750 inc Vat (can't find my bit of paper, but thereabouts  ) It consists of a Supercharger and loads of other bits that make it work. :P  All i really know is it's going to give explosive power throughout the entire rev range with no 'lag to massive boost'. thumbsup It comes with a charge cooler also. About ten have had the conversion in Europe and from what i've heard they all run perfectly. thumbsup

Our new supercharger conversion for VX220 2.2 16v features many components from the 2.0 supercharged LM850 engine, which was developed by Lotus, and is used in the Saturn Ion Redline and the Chevy Cobolt SS. One benefit of this is that all components are OE fitment & durability tested, another being an inlet manifold featuring the laminova charge cooler fitted as standard.

The Stage One conversion offers about 210/215 bhp, has passed TUV approval and is finalised.

The Stage Two conversion offers 240+ bhp.

The Stage One conversion is priced at £4750 fitted including VAT.

The Stage Two conversion is priced at £5175 fitted including VAT.

Please Note: The Stage Two conversion requires a full sports exhaust system. For any car not fitted with a full sports exhaust system, we offer a system at a reduced price when fitted at the time of the conversion.

Have a read of the HITEC thread, or even better give Jon(courtney) a ring, I'm sure he wouldn't mind telling you all about it. thumbsup

 I can't remember halve the stuff he's told me now. :beat:

Torque goes up by about 140 lb/ft. thumbsup :groupjump:

A lot of effort has been put into this conversion by various people (including lessons learnt from the Delta conversion). I am just looking forward to it being super quick. .

Sell your T, buy an early NA, get it charged. :D :jump: :poke:

I hope that as it's tested GM stuff, parts reliability and availability should be fine.

That would be nice, i think its more like +71lbft, isn't it? -> ~221 lbft from 150.

+140 would make 290lbft! :o

Maybe for stage 3... Imnotworthy

Cheers, Paul.

I see that the dip in torque on the NA and T is pretty much identical and at the same RPM. Am i right. :D I can see why some people say that the VXT is screaming out for a remap. thumbsup
