Tonight I have been mostly hairdrying my car  :D It's easy once you get going, the hardest part is not getting creases on the curved parts that goes towards the roof. I guess you don't see that when the roof is on though. All in all for the money it's a big  thumbsup

Also massive thanks to SpeedyK for the translation - spot on!

Thanks Ian, looking forward to receiving the kit.

I've seen Skogshuggarn's car but would like to see others too if possible - Can you post a pic of your car , or anyone else who has already fit the surround.

Cheers thumbsup

Can you take a close-up of the join - I'm particularly interested to see this as IIRC the instructions translated by Speedy seemed to suggest the vertical section overlapped the horizontal section - I would have thought it was the other way round to help prevent water ingress? - although thinking about it maybe this is correct as the problem is more water is forced up the screen when the car is in motion, rather than down the screen when parked..

At home this afternoon and as it was a nice sunny day I thought I'd have a go at putting on the surround. First time I got so many creases in the horizontal section that I ripped it off and threw it away  - good job I ordered 2. Second one went on fine - I'd learned from my first attempt and really soaked it this time to allow me more time to locate in the correct position. Let it dry/helped with the hair dryer and all looked thumbsup but then comes the 'adapting' of the edges. However much I tried I couldn't get all the creases out on the roof side - think Ian mentioned something along the same lines.... so lost patience with it and ripped it off :9mm: I'm sure others will have no such problems ;) Part of the reason I so easily lost patience was that I'd originally ordered 2 so I could have a go at the front V. I soon realised this was a non starter for me at least (even before I f*cked up on my first attempt) as it required way too much patience and eye for detail - so if I'm going to have to take the car in to get the V sprayed I might as well get the surround done at the same time. Thanks again to Ian for sorting this - worth a go and I'm sure others will have great results thumbsup One thing - the foil is quite thin and I wonder how it will stand up to stone chips - skogshuggarn how has yours faired? ...probably no worse than paint!

Forgot to add - I've got 4 unused vertical (side) pieces if anyone needs them ;) ... although I imagine these should go on easier than the horizonal section!
