Probably why the trade in price was crap!

Only been driving for 5 years so not much of a list yet: 1. Fiat Panda 1.0 FIRE (17) - Collegemobile. Certainly cheap on the pocket but also cheap on the street cred. Some plonker drove into the side of it one morning. Door needed replacing so beyond economical repair. Gave me the car back plus £500 (£100 more than I paid for it!!) and I contunied using it for the rest of the year and sold for £200!! 2. Peugeot 309 1.6 (18) - Great chassis, relatively underpowered though. Big end went after 6 months - mate replaced engine for £300. Finished college and got money so it had to go. Sold it to someone who got loads of parking tickets in the first week which somehow kept coming back to me. 3. Ford Escort 1.4 (19) - Horrible. Got from a-b but not much more. Couldn't rev engine past 4000rpm 'cos I was frightened something would break off! Lost control on ice one morning whilst trying to avoind another crashed car. Ended up in a farmers field. Bumper/headlights smashed but otherwise okay. Sold it to my dads colleagues son. Still going today! 4. Toyota MR2 Roadster 1.8 VVTI (21) - Now we're talking. Criticised as a hairdressers car by many but understated IMHO. Good handling with a little bit of luxury to match. Did a couple of trackdays at Brands/goodwood. Got whooped by most things but was still great fun. Fell asleep on my way home at 2AM and hit a tree. Insurance paid up £5000 for repair. Car like new. Sold it to new owner without telling them accident history. Probably one of the most regrettable things I ever did. 5. Vauxhall VX220 2.2 (23) - The best. Only had the car three months and already had the front bumper ripped open by a biker who is now trying to sue me for personal injury and loss of earnings. Before you say it, yes, I have had five cars and broken them all at one point or other. Something which I'm reminded of on a regular basis. I wouldn't mind but I consider myself a very good driver (Okay, everyone does) and most things have either not been my fault or very unlucky.

Mines a quickie (oo-er!) as only been driving three years! 1. Scorpio 2.9 with all the trimmings, even electirc back seats - Dad's old car given to me when he upgraded to an A8 ( Imnotworthy some upgrade!). Scorpio had 255000 on the clock when I had it and gave it to the scrappie with about 290000 on the clock 18months later. Very sad to see it go... 2. Xiantia 1.8, another hand-me-down from family company, couldn't wait to get rid of it really, comfy ride but no poke! :9mm: 3. VX220, plenty of poke, don't care about the ride anymore! :jump: Dai

Never so much as scratched a glider in some 200 hours flying!
I'd say the cars were down to bad luck. I mean, I've crashed three of them within 200 yards of each other on the same road!! :o Shame, cos I'd list in in my top 10 favourite roads ;)

Here we go, a short a definative list of where my wages have apparently gone over the past few years: Mk1 Escort 1300 Rallycar (Died Upside Down in Flames) Mk1 Escort 1300 Road Rallycar (Died upside down in Field) Mk 2 Escort 1600 Sport (Died in action) Renault 5 Gordini (It just died OK) Mk1 Escort Mexico Rallycar (Still Own after 18 years) Mk2 Escort 1600 Sport (Died a natural death) Mini 1000 (Death by going into a barn upright at 60mph backwards (don't ask) Mk1 Fiesta XR2 ( I actually sold this one) Mk2 RS2000 (Sold to buy the Astra as a sensible car) Astra SRi (Sold after 80,000 very hard miles) Renault 11 I think (it was a commuter) Manta GTE Irmsher Exclusive (Great car, everyone should fly one) Fiesta Mk2 XR2 (Complete rust bucket) Rover 220 (Very, very nice car) Vectra 1600 (Crap Company Car) Vectra 2.0 Sri (Better Company Car) Peugeot 406 Coupe (Even better Company Car) VX220 (THE ULTIMATE COMPANY CAR) As well as these I've had a few bikes including blueprinted Kawasaki 750 turbo with all the quick bits, a Blade which was truly stunning and everyone should be forced to have a go on one. 0-60 in 2.7 secs, 78 in first and goes on to 172mph ( I know, I tried it out!) plus a share in an ex-Agostini Motoguzzi which would hit 200mph two up (so i'm told...........) Also I've got a 1968 MG Midget in various counties awaiting some garage space when the Mk1 Rallycar is finally finished later this year.
