Only just came across this after reading your tribute to the car in the other thread. Glad to hear you're in good spirits, but never nice to hear of accidents like this. Hope your swift recovery continues and your passion for all things speedy remains strong. rallly

Just got back from a weeks holiday to read this...... Christ!! Best wishes for a quick recovery Speedy, as a fellow tooth puller I understand only too well the damage to the bank balance something like this can do, wish I could help but a bit too far for me to be useful! Can't believe they could prosecute you as well! Talk about insult to injury :o What happens if you trip up and fall down, do they charge you with damaging the pavement?

Shocking news! I wish you a speedy recovery. Accidents happen, I would know, and not everyone is lucky enough to kiss their wife again afterwards! Take good care of her. She must have had the shock of her life. I'm not usually clearsighted, but I can see something light, fast and with a roof in your future thumbsup

Blimy - so glad you are in one piece. You never know whats on the road do you. certainly going to make me think twice about driving 7/10 on roads I don't know like the back of my hand - so maybe some good can come out of it - may be we'll all be that little bit more careful. Ian

Also I've lightened the pic, thought I'd check first if its okay to post it up, but after lightening it you can see better the type of surroundings that the car fell into. Though luckily you couldn't have fallen any further at that particular point in the road. :) Just say if you'd rather it wasn't posted up, or if people want to see it??

Keith. I hardly ever visit the site these days, but had to log in and reply to this. Been a member of the site for well over two years and nothing has left me speechless like this. So glad you're ok. Combination of things hit me. Your utter love and devotion for the VX, especially in NA form. Your excellent photography and value to the forum. Also, both Hannah and I were left cold as we were fortunate enough to experience the Klausen Pass this year. Stumbled across the road by chance as we drove through Switzerland on our way to the Austrian Tirol. The road is an epic and we had such a wonderful drive. For me, it was the highlight of my time with the VXT. To think that it claimed such a wonderful little car (could have been a lot worse) is shocking. Take it easy out there mate. Hope to read news of another speedky addition soon. :grouphug:

I'm sorry to read this story, hope you'll get better soon. 4 weeks does seem very long  . When bad luck strikes there seems to be always a positive side-effect ... I see you are already thinking of the Exige B) . Last year May someone rearended me in my other car (Leon V6) with 50 mph and after 1.5 years I can only work 2 hours per day in my practice so I can imagine how hard it is for you to leave the job to your colleague. Although I really start to hate my whiplash my accident did have some positive side-effects too: - I learned to live by the day and enjoy the small things in life and - 6 months later I bought my Speedster, without the accident that would never have happend  Good luck with your recovery and don't forget to thank your gardian angel! luckily you couldn't have fallen any further at that particular point in the road.  :)

That was far enough, thanks!

Went and saw the car today and got the pics the recovery team took, as well as taking some last ones of the car myself.

Found that i had been very lucky indeed when I saw how the rocks the car landed upside-down on mashed the headrest just behind me and the windscreen.
