Wow! :o :o Glad you're OK after that off-road expedition! As the mechanic said, you definitely picked a good spot to throw yourself off the mountain (if there is such a thing!) I drove that pass and a few others over the summer, and can't recall any place I would have liked to have done the same. As for a replacement, a couple not suggested yet.... Wiesmann Roadster ? Classic British styling with a solid German motor. Yes! Clubsport (http://www.yes-clubsport.de/) ? Odd MR2 / Ford Ka / Daihatsu Copin styling with a solid German motor. Or go the "sensible" route and get an elise / exige. Not too expensive, hold their value well, competent dealers, and lots of STVA friendly bolt-on go-faster goodies :D

The K1-Attack is also an intriguing mid-engine alternative.

But if SpeedyK is looking at what I think he's looking at, based on some idle browsing through Swiss webpages, there is simply no alternative... ;) And judging by his posting times, he's losing some :sleepy: over the decision. :)

I have been really tussling with this all weekend

I have finally come to a decision about which way to go – just need to finalise the details still with the garage, but hope all will work out OK thumbsup

It was a question of weighing up the relative values of several incompatible (as in mutually exclusive for me at the price I can go to) requirements. I will just have to forego some things that I would very much have liked in a car – because otherwise the price would be off the planet as far as I'm concerned.

I just hope that I don't miss the features that I've decided to do without too much or that the lack of them even spoils the ownership experience for me – that consideration has been particularly troubling me.

I'll just say that it is:

"sporty" B)

certainly not another Speedster (would never buy GM again  )

certainly not a move down from the Speedster (eg.Smart roadster, etc.)

certainly a step up from the Speedster, but not quite telephone number price thumbsup

I hope I will be able to sort it this week – though I can't drive for a while yet due to my hand injury – and when that's recovered, I'll probably get a ban for the accident :(

I'm certainly going through the whole gamut of emotions recently. Don't miss the next exciting episode! :D

Too bad this one isn't an option: Lotus has said that the Circuit Car will be available with a package to allow single vehicle licensing on the road in the UK, but that wouldn't happen here in Switzerland. It would certainly be a fun one for the track... Priced in the "almost reasonable" range as well.
