Eminator - I wouldnt advise applying silicone around the large plastic bit that holds the coils, I dont think It would do much as there is a huge gap to the right!

I did think of that gap soon after I posted, thanks.

Got the kit today.

I havent fitted it yet but had a look to see if it would fit.

It doesnt! - it fits to the lip - but doesnt fit to the middle of the boot.

The Turbo has deeper indents in the middle so the kit fits flush - the NA has a huge gap running in the middle so the plate doesnt fut flush so you cannot fit it via the screws :(

But there was a good result..... I was going into the dealers thinking that the customer service would be appauling [All posts on here seem to say that]

But it was fantastic - I have had Audi/VW/Honda/Pug cars [most company] and have all treated me like they couldnt be arsed. A certain person who worked in a particular dealer near me [I wont say his/her name] took care of me! I was passed the full kit and the person whispered "I have the service manual for you too - dont tell anyone as I'd get the sack - It will help you fit it yourself whithout having to pay us to do it"!!!!!!!!

Thanks mate! thumbsup

Dont worry I wont ;) I have bought the Badass kit so will fit that tomorrow. But have an idea about the ingress kit [my missus' dad is a mech engineer so has access to metal work - he also sometimes taken the weight off some flywheels but thats a different story!] I will keep you posted! chinky chinky PS... I liked they way vxl said the reason why there isnt a kit for the NA is because it doesnt get water on the plugs - I said ' do you want to see the corrosion on my plugs??!!!!' :P

i've never cared about water in the plugs. i just can't believe that they designed it with all the electrics on show :beat:

you may have guessed that this is a pet peeve of mine by now  , but i'm sure my untraceable/ varying fault was down to the wiring getting drenched and then different bits failing intermittently :beat:

Does anyone else with an NA have water dampness in the plugs??? Dont get me wrong my NA has never misfired/failed etc - Its just when I was swapping the sparks the other week I found that one of them had corrosion on them.

Yup my car started to misfire and the coil pack was apparently soaking when the changed it. I later found out there was corrossion around one of the plugs as well but they didn't bother changing them until i took it back and said it was STILL mis-firing.

In saying all that that didn't cure the mis-fire, as it looks like it was the injectors at fault all along :beat:

I was told the coil pack i have on now has better seals but that could be rubbish. I too am going to invest in badass covers once my car is fixed.

They had some spacers for the kit to make it fit the boot lid..

The Water ingress kit is the top plate, the badass covers are the bottom two.

Going to try and fit them when I get chance.

Plus I have the coolant leak to worry about now :(

Hi all, Newbie here. Looks like water in N/A plugs for me too... Not v technically minded at all but managed to change the plugs anyway. VXL said not needed until 40k service but was a little too slow to take off at times. One plug was definitely corroded, the one on the drivers side. Other 3 were fine. Obviously water related, its the side with the big hole in the cover... going to have words with VXL to see if they'll do anything under warranty :(

They prob wont be able to do anything.

Im modding it myself - got the badass covers on to protect the ECU etc.

Will be fitting the vxl water ingress kit [available at £25 from vxl for the Turbo] on the weekend.
