I wouldnt wish your underwear on my worst enemyAnd if a Vauxhall mechanic could tell the geo was out I'd eat my pants.
BUT,
you have to appreciate that not all vx owners are on here, and maybe some vx owners dont know thier arse from elbow
from a vaux point of view, maybe a trained techie might just know (after driving many vx220) more than a one owner that just bought the car to pose in
edit: VXJON...edit some line break in that post mate....I think I just travelled to wales scrolling that much sideways

How so?And if a Vauxhall mechanic could tell the geo was out I'd eat my pants.
Im a Vxl technician and i drive a vx turbo.
When i get vx's in to work on, they get a road test 'before' a service that way every fault gets noted down.
Theres no need to thrash the car or see how it handles etc as a short slow run round the block is enough to pick up any faults.
And yes, id know if the geo was out.
Spose the difference is that i see vx's all the time, own and drive one, so therefore they get treated with the upmost respect.
but then so does a 1.0 corsa!?!

For some reason I was lying in bed thinking about this. I wonder if we are all jumping to conclusions.
Fact is accidents happen - we've all read "I lost the back end at 20mph in 5th" posts. If they were negligent then they need to admit and rectify, but we dont know that yet. As it stands the fact is they have crashed and written off your VXR, and its achademic how, its how they deal with the resolution that matters.
The question you have to ask yourself is "What do I reasonably want out of this" - the dealer should be fully insured and there should also be some goodwill gesture towards you.
Speculating about the cause will only make you angry.
oh, and just to clear up, this isnt true, thats what insurance for:
If it was me, I would treat it along the lines of picking up something in a shop and then dropping it. You would be expected to pay the marked price for it.
the signs you see in shops arent legally binding.

That's not true, trust me there ARE things to spin into! One of the reasons I go to PLANS. They test drive the car on the tracj and there is nothing to spin into!!
Plus the guys know what they are doing!!!
