Also worth a special mention is Heritage Insurance - (we got the BM insured FC for £230!) - If you're over 28 and have owned your car for more than 12 months (they are ssociated with CCI, Autotorque and AON/ESTEEM). Heritage don't charge extra for track day cover when LoT members are attending LoT days. They also include European venues.

bump Just starting the usual annual insurance ring-around although I'm now looking to include track day cover. Anyone able to add to this list? btw Chris Knott no longer do track day cover :( Edited to say AON can't do track day cover except under a classic car policy with max annual mileage of 6,000. That's another one off the list :(

Cancel Footman James off the list too. :( Herts Insurance Consultants are the only ones to quote so far with Highways Insurance. I'll keep updating this thread as I go.

Well I've pretty much exhausted everyone on the list. Virtually everyone said no to a policy which includes track day cover. So I'm left with...... Herts Insurance who have quoted Adrian Flux who are calling me back with a quote (hopefully) And Autotorque who said they couldn't include trackday cover, put me through to a central clearing house for brokers who also said they couldn't include trackday cover. Now Autotorque have just called me back to request further details so they can quote  No one else wants to know :( :9mm:

I'm insured with CCI. Have you tried them?? They are quite good really, their price wasn't that much more expensive than my cheapest quote with elephant, but I got trackday cover for 4 days free with the policy. They also let me off because I taken up the policy when I was 24, they only normally insure 25+.

I tried CCI and while their quote was slightly cheaper than anyone else they only include 4 trackdays and each additional day is charged at £125 :o which as I'm doing 8 or 9 days a year makes it very expensive.

Best quote so far is Autotorque at £1,045 which includes 5 trackdays with each additional day at £30.

The only other quote is Herts Insurance Consultants at £1143 with (apparently) unlimited track days which, taking into account the number of track days I'm doing is probably the better bet. I've yet to read their policy terms which I'll do over a beer tonight :drink:

The following no longer include track day cover

AON
Footman James
Adrian Flux
Liverpool Victoria
Bell Direct
CIG
Chris Knott

:( Why are so many companies pulling out of trackday cover?? Have there really been that many claims??

I can only assume that's the case, although quite a few guys I've met on trackdays have their track day car as a second car with a shed/company car/some other vehicle as their main transport. I guess I'm unusual in that my VXR is my only car and I do probably more trackdays than most. I'm also averaging 15,000 miles pa which excludes me from the classic/heritage policies.

LV may state they don't cover TD's but their documentation indicates otherwise - see my recent thread on the subject. Do not think I will take the pif paf flat next time I am at Bedford just to find out, but I am reassured

Well I rang LV and..................

They get the prize for the most ridulous quote..........

I'm 50, live in Surrey, 21 years no claims, no points on my licence, no business use, car kept secure overnight, etc etc etc so you'd think I'm a reasonable bet for insurance.

And they wanted........

£1,500 pa :o :o :o :o :o

And they still reckon that's without track cover :beat: :beat: :beat:

I think the problem with AON seems to be getting hold of the right person given that AON is a HUGE company. Seloc say you've got to ask for the Lotus Esteem contact so I'll give them another go tomorrow.

I must confess that I know absolutely nothing about these guys, but Motorsports Events recommend them for trackday cover. Worth a look?

I've done the deal with AON thumbsup Very helpful. You have to speak to the Lotus Esteem contact and then you get the right department. I paid £650 last year with the numpties at NUD for a no frills fully comp policy on the VXR. AON have quoted £901 for an all-singing all-dancing fully comp policy with protected no claims etc etc and 5 trackdays included and any additional days charged at £26.50 each. Very nice people to deal with and I'd recommend them to anyone. What a breath of fresh air to deal with a decent broker/insurer. btw the policy is with Royal & Sun Allaince too. Well pleased :D

I've just renewed with AON too. Ask for the Roadster policy team. Both my cars are insured on one policy, business use on both, not garged, mods, track cover, protected ncb on both - £1000 all in. And as wavey says, great to deal with. This is my third year with them.

Does AON's cover include the Nurburgring or Castle Combe?
