Nice work, will be giving them a call this month.

I know it's a long shot but what's their policy on the ring and European tracks.

I am sure Euro tracks are included, although not sure about the "Ring", your best checking with Tracy Rushin at CCI

Just looking at renewing and it looks like Autotorque have gone into liquidation. Currently CCI are front runners as with 4 track days they are around £200 cheaper than my 10 month policy with Bell ! :o

In the end I went with CCI as Ricky came up with the best price, a £250 excess and 4 track days included. However I did find a company not previously listed - Nowell & Richards - 01785 255514 and spoke at length to Chris. His price was 2nd best with a £500 excess and a charge of £63 per track day. (The policy also covered stuff like if any armco is taken out etc.) very professional and knowledgeable fella.

Back on topic!

I've just given my money to Heritage http://www.heritage-quote.co.uk/

Only just bought the car, it's a 2001 VX220 N/A with mods, I'm 34 and the cars parked on the street.

The policy is fully comp for me, my misses and two of my best mates.

It covers Social, domestic, pleasure use and commuting as well as, and this is the key, TRACKDAYS! for just £480

That's £100 more expensive than my best quote but it was the only one that covered Trackdays.

A bargain I think.

Obviously other insurance policies are available.

Got my quotes down to 3 companies who could provide track day cover Heritage - unlimited UK track days, have to pay extra per track day for European days - they didnt know how much though? (Ring & Spa excluded) - Track excess 10% of vehicle value PLUS road excess (£1k + £350 in my case), Big no no was they dont protect no claims bonus or even use it. They told me that my current NCB is valid for 2 years but would I would then have to change insurance company to one who does use it! (they were the only company who classed a VX220.org organised track day as valid) CCI - 4 track days per year (1 can be European - not the Ring or Spa) Additional days are 0.75% of vehicle value for first 2 then 1% therafter. Track excess 10% of vehicle value Richard Egger - 4 track days per year (1 can be European - not the Ring or Spa) Additional days are 0.75% of vehicle value. Track excess 10% of vehicle value. They also had the bigest list or recognised track day organsiers. There wasnt much between CCI & Richard Egger to be honest but the guy at Richard Egger really knew his stuff so I gave them my money (0115 985 0165)

Just had my renewal through from Heritage which no longer includes LoT trackdays in Europe. To help decide whether or not to renew with them, I've just phoned for a quote for Folembray - which annoyingly falls the day after the current policy expires. The premium for the day is £88.75. :o

Can I suggest that people be a bit careful with HIC (Herts Insurance Consultants). Although their website seems very "pro track days", stating that you'll get free track day cover, "just ask!", in reality only some of their insurers actually provide that benefit - and for a much increased premium. I've had a moan at them today after calling to activate my "free track day insurace" for this Monday, only to be told that it didn't apply to my policy. Their website doesn't explicitly state that only certain policies support it, and I pointed this out to them. Apparently the site will be changing any minute now to rectify. :angry2: So at the moment I wouldn't recommend them above any of the others - especially as I've now got single day track cover for £75 with £1000 excess from MORIS Insurance. Would have to do a lot of track days to cover the increased premium HIC wanted to charge...

just renewed the VXR as its been uninsured for 3 weeks Original quote was from AON for £650. Tried CCI but all operators engaged. Rang Richard Eggar and got a great quote - 38, solihull postcode, 9 years NCB, SDP, £18k value, 5k miles pa limit, 290bhp, £500 excess, mods, 4 trackdays - only £366 and 66 pennies!!! :D

Just doing the rounds with insurance. Having done my first track day at the national I am now hooked. If you track the car without track day cover its at your own risk right, but dos this invalidated on the road cover? I am thinking track day damage is most likely to be clams and replicable bits. So would be prepared to stand any loss and repair my self. Dos any one know the insurance company view on this? Claymoor.

Some insurance companies do apparently cancel your insurance if they find out the car has been on track, irrespective of whether you are making a claim. I'm sure I read something that said there is some legal doubt as to whether they can actually do this due to some EU law about providing a minimum level of insurance. Didn't really pay any attention as my insurers are trackday friendly and have a sensible approach. So, no help at all, I'm afraid.

I have phoned round a couple of the insurers listed on hear. Best so far is CCI five track days a year fully comp European cover £320.00 or £ 260.00 without track cover. The track cover apparently covers the car for accidental damage but no liability cover. The liability should be covered by the fee you pay the organiser. Hence only approved events like LOT. I had one quote that would not cover track days. I asked if I did a track day without cover would it invalidate my on road cover. The answer was, I would not be covered for damage to my car but they would pay out under the liability side of the cover for any third party claims! and then recover this amount from me. Sounds odd but that’s what they said. Claymoor

Just got a quote from REIS for Goodwood on saturday (don't usually insure, but it's cold and greasy at this time of year!) for £109.22 with £1000 excess.... not too bad I don't think considering I am 24!
