Thanks! just phoned about my 52 NA - The woman on the end sounded quite tired! Vacuum hose recall but no new wheels for me :( Does anyone have more info on the vac hose recall? Is it replacing the whole pipe, or just the ends? if so 90 mins seems a bit of an underestimate...

the weels are a just a simple batch check...

So are all wheels individually marked - I dont recall seeing any kind of markings on mine.
Or are they just replacing wheels on cars that fall within certain production numbers or time span

Mines an o2 NA, 04305, wheels are apparently ok, but needs the vacuum hose.
Excuse my ignorance, but what does that do, and what sort of work is involved?

Martin s

hose runs from engine to brake servo and aids braking.

known for collapsing.

runs through chassis.

pain to change (ask Jim)

now a recall.

you need to check if the wheel says 7.5 J on it somewhere if it does it will need replacing

If anyone finds what they do with the wheels can they please post?

I've got two sets here and no idea which are the original ones so I'd hate to take the wrongs ones in and not get them replaced if it's an option. Is there a code somewhere?

you need to check if the wheel says 7.5 J on it somewhere if it does it will need replacing

any idea where? presumably on the reverse?

Just booked mine in for it's service and will hopefully get the recalls done at the same time... Does anyone know if there's now a 3 month wait for wheels though? Can't imagine there's a huge stockpile of them

I've just checked on my spare set. Both have that code written on the back of one of the spokes. No idea about the ones that are actually on the car, and no idea if you'd be able to see without taking the wheels off the car

Both sets of rears went off for new tyres all round.. while the car sat on four fronts :) ... hence the confusion.

Hubs and wheels snapping, brake failure ............ Im glad im fecking selling :D

Just phoned and the lady was very nice but did say she has had more calls today on the VX than they get in a month!!!. 03 NA wheels are fine but hose is part of the recall. Just don't like the idea of the local stealer getting their hands on my car again :(
