Its a bloody good day out and the tuition is also very good. I had hoped to get back down there sometime this year before i sold the car, but just ran out of time in the end. I think there was still a far bit more time to be gained, as the car was still on standard tubby suspension then. I think i did 4 or 5 flying laps and each was generally about a second faster than the previous one. I was hoping to have a go without a passenger in the car, as Graham and Andy both reckon a passenger costs 2 to 3 seconds a lap. I'm fairly sure that they are still doing it, and would highly recommend it. The tuition is very good and its also really interesting comparing the data logged laps. thumbsup

Managed 1m 28.2s a few weeks ago so that makes it the fastest VX, JUST :tt: . The main problem is me not having the guts to stay flat from the hammerhead right through the follow through.....it gets pretty hairy! Guess I should point out that I have a Stage 5 Turbo with nitrons, 888's etc! I would love to see what time the Stig could get out of it Imnotworthy PS: Great time reasonablekeith in the Honda powered Elise thumbsup Any idea of your bhp/ton?

Plans are touting this for Christmas presents:

The Plans Motorsport "Stig" Experience
Drive your own car, or one of our race-prepared Lotus Elises, on a private track, made famous by BBC’s Top Gear. This is an exclusive event and you will be the only person out on the track. The sessions (either 08:30-11.00 am or 3:30-6.00pm with about an hour on track, weekdays only) are tailored to suit each individual - So if you want to break the lap record, or just want to learn to drive your car 'on the limit' in a safe, controlled environment, this could be the perfect Christmas gift for you.

Prices start from £189.00, please call 01483 548 999 to book a voucher.

Tried it last week. What a great experience this is thumbsup
It looks very easy on TV, but how very difficult to get your lines through these corners  Coming from a wide track into a small lane is a much bigger challenge then the usual circuit experience on a track day where you just sort of follow the outline of the circuit and aim for the apex

The 'Spexige' (VXT based, Exige looks) did it in 1m 27.6s:
Some remarks on this lap:
= Laptimedoes not show correct time, the system doesn't pick up the actual start/finish line
= Air intake temperature much too high (up to 84 degr Celsius) due to technical problem and losing some power, probably down to 300.
Most certainly will have another go when the cooling problem is solved

And when track time was up, we had to leave for planes and other fast material:
