I just got a pair of these ( scuffed) to use on my vectra for winter tyres. To be honest they look very ugly but they were free and only for winter use.......

To be honest, for the EBAY price they could be pink with polka dots and I would still be willing to give them a go. A quick black spray will hide most of the nastiness, and it open up lots of interesting tire options. Of course, there are literally dozens of 16" and 17" Astra rims with other designs on the aftermarket, so knowledge that the standard 16" Astra rim works with spacers is also useful.

I've been using Toyo Proxy 1-Rs on the front now, and they are absolutely fine in the 195/55/R16 size. I use the Halfords 6mm (ish) spacer as well or the rim will hit the caliper. Standard bolts are perfect. 205/55/16 are slightly too big, and will rub on full lock - very useable though. 195/55/R16's are perfect - no rubs. I fully recommend going to the /55/ for road-use and motorway miles. Pressures I have 26r x 24f. No centering adaptor required, as the centre-hole is the same size as the VX hub. Mytyres.co.uk do the 195/55/R16 for just over £50 each. I phoned up and they said that they didn't have any in for a while, so I ordered them on the Internet from them and they arrived two days later? - Work that out! Regards, Steve

Ive got a pair going spare. If i remember correctly, one has slight scuff, but nothing serious. fitted with tyres both with over 5mm of tread. (Cant remember what brand, can check tomorrow if anyone interested.)
