thats crazy, I hope I never need one. you would have thought that you could have got the box off once you have removed the clam without touching the engine.

I wouldn't worry on the NA's. The only NA clutch we've changed is on one of the race cars and that was due to abuse. The fact the clam has to come off and engine out is pretty normal for Lotus cars on these kinds of things; they build them to function with limited attention paid to how you actually fix them.

Hi! On the Turbo you can take the gearbox out without taking the clam off or taking the engine out :) If you take off the left parts of the rear axle it`s possible.

i think mine is on its way out, only done 1000 miles since i brought the car put in 2nd gear between about 3500 and 4500 RPM it feels like a really big flat spot and feels like the car isn't pulling like it should...i think its slipping :( ....not quite sure

If you don't think the car is sold as fit for purpose, then go back to dodgy darrel.

Gotta say tho mate, good luck....... :(

Slipping clutch does not feel like a flat spot, you would know if it was slipping.

Mine slipped for more than a year (including a ton of track days) and it was fine. Eventually had it changed by Thorney for a performance item, make s a huge difference, even compared to the original before it slipped.

well sometimes i just get the impression its slipping, not 100% sure what slipping feels like but i just feel like its not going any where fast with my foot planted.....doesn't pull/push me into my seat like i think it should. i'd imagine the torque at 3500-4500 RPM just be pretty potent.... cant feel much though......

Thats correct, but the time it takes to do that along with the fact that removing all these parts means a complete geo would need doing and involves removing bolts that aren't exaclty designed for multiple removal/instalation means the engine out method is actually quicker and certainly better for the car.
