I also would be concerned about drilling holes down there as the quality of the fibreglass is not that great, consolidation is a bit iffy, and water penetrating in between the layers or fibreglass.

You would have to be mad to drill holes in the car!

Why? Elises & Exiges have holes drilled exactly the same place.
There is no reason why the fibreglass on the VX inner arch is any different in strenght to the Lotus cars.
It's all down to, do you have the ability to drill or stick.......... :)

Me and power tools should never be placed near each other! haha :borg:

The blue vx is mine. I got them from another vx member, I think Chris turbo. I think they may have started life from an exige or something. Perfect fit and look like there meant to be there. I fitted them as I thought it made the car look more finished and matched in with the rear black arch covers. Martin s

I bought 2 sheets of real carbon fibre from demon tweks (autosport section), then cut them to size and mounted with double sided tape. I shaped the visible edge with wet/dry paper which was very easy to do. look the mutts nuts and quite a few people comment on them. Nice to know you are protecting the sills and Im sure they reduce crap hitting the rear of the car too.

if your sills havent been pebble dashed to death cover them in a couple layers sticky back plastic.. then they wont chip.

as for the ones who have chipped, adamB had a good mudflap..

No new holes. 6mm rubber sheet (yeah, it's a bit heavy) fitted with about 30cm. of aluminium profile, longer inner wheel arch screws (M5 x 30mm), one plastic thingumybob for plasterboard that fits in (and can be removed from) the hole in the sill, and some double sided tape.
