Wow! They might have been taken on a cheap camera, but they're stunning Y_O_B! You have an eye for a good picture, that's for sure. The market with all the colours is particularly good IMO.

Gosh - that means an awful lot, when this thread is packed with technically and aesthetically breathtaking photos - including yours. Thank you

Mandarin - that second shot would make a fantastic screensaver...

YoB

3rd shot is fantastic candid shot
the colours are great

could quite easly make an entry into lonely planet .

great shot .

It's not always about the camera you use or the stock
just the moment

the girl in frame is so pretty yet
she looks so lost
even thou she is ment to be there

you got an eye

and that you can't learn

Wow, I'm speechless  Compliments from Scoobs and Richy too - that means an awful lot, thanks guys Imnotworthy Although they're tat compared to the masterpeices you guys produce, but thank you for making me grin and feel all warm and fluffy :)

I'll post some more when I finally work out how to get them off my Mac.

In the meantime, here are some taken by an ex who really has an eye - I adore them all (he also took the photo which is my avatar). They look better in real-life - I have some of them framed. Sorry if too many - couldn't decide:

The first is my favourite too. I think you are probably correct - it was when he first started out, and was perhaps trying too hard - but still admirable shots :)

Looks like it's a saturday night in searching the net for inspiration [Ohh joy] - Hoping the booze will see me through.

Just loaded Picasa, and found these:

My old commute to work:
Posted Image

The clouds setting in from behind (best get a move on!)
Posted Image

A stroll after work:

And again:
Posted Image

Must admit I really miss the place (everyone called it 'the graveyard shift  )

Admittadly did move to a penthouse in Plymouth on the next assignment with pretty good views, so not so bad:
Posted Image

Moved on again now tho and these days the best views I seem to get are of endless motorways :(

They were taken about 3 years ago on my 3mp coolpix :P

Hoping to pop along to the Abingdon trackday on Friday if they allow spectators (and its not peeing it down!) should give me a good chance to have a play with the 200mm lens, I take it I need a relatively fast shutter speed for racing, anything else I need to know?
