thought some of you might want an update of my 2.2's mapping :) My vx spent over a week recently going between TMS and Superchips rolling roads to have the 310cc injectors mapped (standard injectors are 252 cc) Picked her up Friday and it seemed pretty good, but never had the time for much driving :( Started her up this morning and the cold tickover was very sweet, infact the best it's ever been since the engine build :D I normally allow the engine to warm up before going for a spin but wanted a cold engine run to check the mapping, very pleased with the results....nice and smooth thumbsup Engine response feels much more progressive with no flat spots, but as soon as the engine hits 4200 rpm the cams let rip all the way to the 6850rpm limiter Imnotworthy In gear acceleration has improved massively, mainly due to the flat spot at 4k rpm vanishing :) Not sure of the final power, I'm not really interested  , but will post the rolling road figure from the last run (which will be later this week) thumbsup I am finally happy with my vx220's performance, so until I fit a 2.4 vvt with itb's that's about it for now :poke: I must thank all those involved in the mapping work, you have done a fantastic job guys :groupjump:

if the power is still rising near to the limiter get a 7k raise! the limiter is harsh on these cars... im going to make the lmiter softer when i have it mapped. sounds like you've done some top work... nothing more satisfying when it all comes together. good effort.

i meant to ask....how do you time the cams in on n/a VX? or are they just ground differently and run on standard settings....

I have piper cams and they peak at 6800rpm so not really worth going higher with the limiter :)

They were very simple to 'time up' because piper kept the standard method of cam chain timing marks thumbsup

I would advise to find a standard size wasted stem valve rather than +1mm, the added cost of fitting them is not worth the gains (£25 per valve seat :o ) but sivalves should be able to supply them

si valves

for reference these are my +1mm items

I always thought the TMS rolling road read about 10 bhp low with the 2.2 vx's :P

Go ahead JawZ, admit that you are tempted to do this mod on your car. Then you can tell the rest of us (and let us have a go at it on the next meeting here in Sweden) :groupjump:

Theoretically, correct. In practice I'd suggest setting the rev limiter at 7000 when the horsepower peaks at 6800.

Personal preference, but..

A few hundred rpm over the peak HP is usually a good idea as it keeps you the powerband once you shift up and also gives you a little 'headroom' in the lower gears to shift at/close to the peak hp rpm without slamming into the limiter every time. 50 rpm is a very small margin :)

My engine peaks close to 8100rpm and my limter is set to 8600rpm (it's mapped to 8700rpm). That works fine, but even then I have to be quick in 1st and 2nd gear or it hits the rev limiter.

Bye, Arno.
