How soon will you be offering these upgrades? If very soon I need to start grovelling to the missus Imnotworthy

Yeah it would be interesting to have an idea of what the gains would be without the cams and gasflowed head.

So if I understand correctly to get a Vocky spec intake I need these

It would be good if there was a cheap exhaust manifold aswell. The US one that sort of fits is dirt cheap :o

Am I right in thinking that the only direct replacements are the TMS and Regal ones?

Bill,

the exhaust manifold is apparently a total PITA (clam cutting, new custom downpipes needed so wave goodbye to your milltek), but Regal have one and TMS have one thats a direct bolt on.

Also, I've found there is no need for the larger TB as the standard one works just as well with no modifications needed (and standard 2.2 one is preferred by the usa lot!)

Our manifold is a true equal length, pointless doing it otherwise. It will bolt straight to a Milltek. We'll have all of this out at the end of September.

Cheers Packs, I'll probably just go for the inlet then and see how it goes. I've got a Milltek cat sitting in my living room to keep me busy first anyway, so I'll wait and see what TMS have before I order a US one.

Thats a pretty good idea... provide links to buy the parts, a list of tools and step by step guide to fitting complete with photos :)

Then add a forum to discuss it all, charge a small yearly fee, sorted thumbsup

Yes :)

I am happy with the outcome :)

My vx220 now has the correct mapping without having to go to the expense of an 'Emerald ecu + mapping' which I honestly believed would be the outcome :o

So once again my thanks go to Superchips and TMS for putting up with my constant visits

Vocky, do you know what's the percentage for the 'active cycle' on the VXR injectors? Be great if you could get hold of some mapping details.

I have no idea, but the vxr injectors are too big for the 2.2 engine :(

standard injector is 252 cc

the usa 2.0 sc injector is 310 cc

vxr injector is over 400cc

you can get different make injectors, but you will need to change the wiring plug to suit and ensure they are the same body size to fit the fuel rail and cylinder head, I believe a certain Ford engine uses some that fit.

Hi vocky, I following your mods for some time now at the SE forum and this is a great result of your efforts. But looking to the fuelling graphs of the TMS 2+ map and your new custom map, it wonders me that they have exactly the same shape (it's going everywhere), only richer. And is it not running a little too rich (for an NA engine) in the middle rpm's? At these rpm's you have a nice dip in the torque curve... I'm no expert at mapping, but I think there is still something to win there if you sort out the fuelling. But again, a great result. Frank

It's true, but the OEM ECU could not be really specifically mapped It can not be emulated by the remap consoles so every change has to be flashed each time to the ECU (~30 min). Maybe with something like 200 hours of rolling it could work but well... :groupjump:
