AMD has had the car today and fitted the full Miltek and given the car a full rolling road ECU stage 1 remap

Current mods are
- Powertec/PVD induction kit
- Full miltek system
- AMD stage 1 remap
- EBC greenstuff all round
- Scared stiff geo setup
- PVD power ariel :P

Results were:-

Max power 175.1bhp@ 5738rpm
Max torque 173.6 lb/ft@ 4297rpm

:o :o :o YES onehunderandseventy-feckin-five mad horses

I am now officially half way to a turbo :groupjump: :groupjump: :groupjump:

You're more than halfway, that gives you pretty close to Turbo power-to-weight ratio. OK, so you won't match the torque-to-weight, but hey, it's a bloody good effort. Isn't this more than paulb's getting, but with headwork/cams as well?

Surprised at that, PaulB's is 169bhp but no induction kit. Can the induction kit be THAT good? I'm there tomorrow, so I'll find out what the score is.

I think PaulB was quoting 170bhp, no torque figures yet...

Reason?? Well mine has 23000miles on it and its always felt "fast"

Also, i looked at Paulb's result from the AMD in August - he got 151bhp with a full miltek, i got 154 with just a precat removed... Why??

Dont care at the moment - going out now for a razz :P :P :P Listen to the zorst VEEEERRRRRROOOOOMMMMMM :groupjump:

I think my engine is still a bit tight. It's only done 5000 miles. I haven't had the cams done yet (still waiting for the new ones to arrive at AmD) so the head probably isn't adding much value until the new ones are fitted. Certainly shows the guys know what they are doing... Maybe time for an induction kit!

God that's tempting. Although..... Air temp today was only around 4 degrees. What was the power output prior to having the remap done? When we did the rolling road day it was absolutely baking which surely means lower power outputs. so I'm wondering if the cold air is adding to that power increase? I don't suppose AMD will have a january sale ;)

Variables on the summary report: Min 14 deg.c Max 16 deg.c Pressure 1000mb Pretty certain it was 26c approx that day, bit i didnt see the summary report i got today. Saying that, 14-16c is still not that cool and i dont have any kind piping to pull more air from the side rather than the engines' excess heat Paul - The powertec is a metal gauze filter rather than a cotton/paper filter, supplied thru PVD Looking at the torque curve, its still down 2-3000rpm.... Next step is i reckon is swap the pipe between the induction and the engine inlet.... ITG said that was a big no-no on the NA - it got a dirty great kink in it :beat: :P Oh forgot to say, the remap has made reving incredibly smooth! I propper banged off the rev limiter on the way home. Need more revs Scott :poke: :poke:

Paul - The powertec is a metal gauze filter rather than a cotton/paper filter, supplied thru PVD

Now I'm confused. I thought the Powertec was an induction kit like [THIS], not just a filter?

It it the Powertec SL1 kit Cheeky's running on his. I can believe that it has helped considerably towards the extra power his car has over Paul's, as my NA felt much quicker when it was running a filter.

I did not get too bored, after you left I wandered around the town for 3 hours and collected car at just after 2 pm. As with your car they did a good job on mine. Just leaving now, going for a ride! Hoddy

Looks good Cheeky B) It would be good if someone manges to eliminate that nasty spot between 2-3000rpm. I think the mileage on the NA is a big factor when talking Power/torque figures. I don't think the 2.2 really unleases it's umph untill 20,000 miles. It would be good at the next rolling road day to get a colection of NA's togather (what the collective term for a group of vx's????) and note the milleage aswell as the power/torque curve. Blanchie
