The heat of the engine builds up when driving slow or stopping. You could even smell the paint melting above the exhaust manifold... The fan solved that problem.

So many changing plans, time to make a fresh list of work in progress: Power target: 525pk at 8500rpm, weight target: 855kg and overall target: keep it street-legal Engine: • Borg Warner EFR7064 twin scroll turbo • Twin scroll exhaust manifold (heat wrapped) • 850ccm injectors • Steel crankshaft (-4kg rotational mass) • Stronger crankshaft-bottom support, strengthening ladder (+4kg) • Bigger valves, bronze fittings, dual valve-springs • More aggressive camshafts • Replace hydraulic valve lifters with solid lifters • Dry sump system for sustained oil pressure at high revs • Rev limiter to 8500 (for now, engine will hold up to 9000) • Engine support aluminium (top right-side) • Engine mounts (fill-up with Sikaflex) • Charge cooler upgrade (enforcement to 2.5bar) and upgrade connection pipes diameter • Remove oil cooler (oil tank and pipes will cool the oil) • Remove electrical water pump (need to keep that in mind before switching the engine off) • Lightweight 70-90A Alternator (2.58kg) and bracket • Titanium exhaust (with exception of cat). Maybe make it like: http://www.hjs-motor...ldaempfer.html • New air filter housing and fresh air intake (adjust sizes to turbo intake diameter) • Remove Apexi boost controller (ECU will handle it) • Heat shield removed Electrical: • 2nd fan connected to fog light switch • Front and rear clams with a single-plug (12/24 pin AMP) wiring disconnect • Remove Xenon • MIM01 Video-Vbox, new inputs to include in logging: o Traction control indicator( to visualize engine cut-offs/wheel-spin, pin 4 on the B connector – it sits at 5v but goes to GND when cuts are made.) o Throttle pedal position o Turbo RPM o Oil temperature (instead of engine bay temp) • Change battery cut-off switch, new location next to fire extinguisher • Battery behind co-driver seat • Clean up wiring • Build filter in ABS signal to traction control as spikes are causing the system not to work under 20MPH: http://www.lotus116....peedster052.htm (with many thanks!) Other: • Dry sump oil tank in front (battery location) • Roof vent system • New tow-hook • Interior heating system removed • License plate on alu strips • Fire extinguisher Zero 360 (Novec) Remote Electric 2.25kg Remote Pressure Discharge LL104-225-003 Cylinder Size (mm) 219L x 108 Ø Weight 3.09kg • Lower driver seat (1-2cm) and mount both chairs with L-shaped alu strip • Cruise control (reactivate it) • Block dirty air around radiator (foam) • Strengthen splitter and headlamp housing • Some painting: Front splitter in mat-black, doors bottom half silver like the rest of the car. Weight start 903 KG's Weight target 855 Alternator -3 Crankshaft -4 Flywheel -0,5 Strengthen engine 4 Oil cooler -4 Oil tank 12 Dry Sump pump 8 Wiring -8 Fire extinghuisher -2 Chair supports alu -5 Exhaust Titanium -20 Heating system out -9 Electrical water pump out -1 Apexi boost controller -1 Borg Warner 7064 2,5 Exhaust manifold 1,5 Remove Xenon -2 Alu engine support bracket -0,8 Stengthen splitter 1 Strenghten headlights 0,3 New tow-hook 0,5 Charge cooler buffer tank -4,5 Air filter housing 0,5 Tophat -0,242 Intake manifold -2,3 Uprights Nitron -4,8 Steering wheel carbon -1 Lexan side windows -6 Toe link upgrade 1,2

Ouch, that's going to cost a bit. :o

keep it street-legal

Aren't you and the car based in Belgium? Given how many problems another member had with the Belgian MOT and proving drilled brake discs and the blue anti-roll bar where original equipment, will keeping it street legal even be possible.

Good luck. thumbsup

In belgium, there are extreme regulations around tuning. Here's the offical goverment website, on what's allowed, and what not (no english) http://www.how2tune.be In holland, if the car meets MOT regulation, it's fine.

Dutch MOT (APK) has only some basic safety checks and a simple check on the engine exhaust-gasses.
Few things I need to do before the annual check:
- Make sure the original full-size front license plate is there when they need it
- Make sure that the garage knowns which rmps are best for legal emmission levels (ECU program holds small RMP range which is surprisingly environmental frienldy  )
- Make sure the color of the car is mostly black (listed in the paperwork)
- Protect the knife-sharp splitter with some protection material :glare:
Things I do not have to worry about  include:
- Hydraulic handbrake, big brakes, no ABS
- Changes on bodyworks, suspension, wishbones, wheelbase
- Engine modifications
- And all the rest....
