I can shed some light on the makers of the vauxhall sport exhaust as when I bought mine it came fully wrapped with manufacturers stickers on. Made by Irmscher.

As an offshoot of the >What Na Backbox< thread, I've created this thread to try and consolidate some information about the little-known Janspeed offering.

What we know so far:

didn't someone once say that Janspeed actually made the Vauxhall sports box?

Elise forums seem to rate the Janspeed although say it is very loud.

(From the Elise FAQ) Janspeed is loud and raspy, it's also relatively small & easy to fit. This seems to be one of the loudest exhausts ... The Janspeed stainless steel exhaust is "for track use only".

(From Janspeed) We do manufacture an exhaust system for the VX220, but not for Vauxhall direct.  We retail them at £319.14 plus VAT and the Sports Car retails at £238.28 plus VAT.  Both are in stainless steel and have life time warranty.

I've asked for a photo of the exhaust system and have got:

I have passed your email to Tom Ross our Technical Director, who will come back to you with some additional information.

So we shall have to wait and see. if anyone lives near Salisbury where Janspeed are based, perhaps they could pop in, take a few photos and get some more info? if anyone has one of these suckers already fitted then lets hear from you!

Ben

Its many months and years since this conversation started but I was wondering if this horrible light on the dash ever got resolved from janspeed. I was fairly keen on getting the full system but I'm having second thoughts as number of people on the forum have rasied there concerns about the light coming on.
Any help would be appreciated as I'm new to owning a vx.

Cheers

Craig

I dont think it did, I have a Janspeed and my light is still on. Still, it sounds :tt: and (possibly) gives good power gains (gave good results on TMS rolling road, this could just be down to my engine being more powerful as standard  ). Think Janspeed may have given up now but not sure, best give them a ring.

I think that this did get resolved on a few people's cars. If you think you might like a Janspeed, get the Piper (although that might change once I've seen/heard a Larini ;) )

I gave up and bought a miltek cat but kept the janspeed backbox. Now i have a happy VX with no mil light and nice sounding exhaust.
