Hi, I have just put a deposit on a turbo vx the other day, it was the first time i had been in one. And i must say i have no clue how to get in and out without looking like a twat. Have you got any tips? I take it, its just pratice. I think my skirt days are over. Also the vx is a hard top, is there anyway i can buy a soft top just in case it rains while the roof is down? Thank you

I've only had mine 5 months, but still haven't worked out a way to get in/out with dignity...all part of the experience though!! The hard top would have been optional at original purchase, so it might be that the soft top comes with it as well, but I presume you've asked about this and they've said no? If not, you may get a nice surprise 1st time you open the boot! Apparently there are some 2nd hand soft tops somewhere, if you do a search on here, can't remember how much etc though sorry! Enjoy your purchase! *Edit - must type faster!*

Getting in and out is a real challenge for the first few attempts but it does get a lot easier, trust me! Absolutely no reason why you should consider your skirt wearing days as over............ The VX should come with a soft-top as this is standard roof. Hard-Top was an optional (+£1,200 ish) extra.

you'll soon master it, and the only time from then on you'll struggle is when you climb out holding bags full of shopping, the stereo, keys and a phone all at once

I honestly thought this was a wind up when I 1st read it. Any way Mrs Baker, or is it miss, The tash finds that when getting out he puts his right forearm on the door frame and left forearm on the RH side of the steering wheel and just " Lever up". To get in, I put left hand on corner of roof ( For balance, Do not put weight on roof). Put left leg in footwell and slither in. It does help if you have the door open whilst doin this. Very important, do not sit on the sill as they are plastic and crack easily, they are expensive for what they are and may damage your Bootocks as forest gump called them. PS, did I tell you I have a tash and its for hire.

I wish I'd known this earlier as I've already cracked mine I'm torn between glueing it with high speed tape on the reverse, just the tape or buying a new one ..... There seems to be a small gap undeneath so when I renew/repair I may try to pack it in order to aleviate the strain it gets when my fat arse lands on it!

Girls under 5'5" seem to be able to just sit on the sill (perpundicular to the car) and literally just 'plop' in! Its soo cute! In - Left leg into left side of steeringwheel, right hand on the right sill edge, head down and forward and slither in!

Like everyone else said its all practise, you will find your own way of gettin in and out easiest in time. I can now get in with no hands Keep the skirts no reason to get rid of them

Being a fellow female owner, I find the easiest way is: left leg straight in, head don and in, bum on seat then right leg in, use the steering wheel to balance if needed - that way you don't need to touch/lean on anything else!!! To get out: right leg out and put right foot on floor to push yourself out, again hold steering wheel if you need to balance! All depends on how flexible you are really!

Getting in and out in a skirt is slightly trickier but can be done! The above way is manageable buy not if your wearing a tight/ pencil skirt! In this case the best way is to put your bum straight on the seat first, then swivel your legs round and in! (Important: keep legs together to avoid doing a Britney Spears!!)

Everyone finds their own ways of getting in and out, you will master it after a couple of days I'm sure! You will then spend the rest of your time giving instructions of how to get in and out to your passengers....with frequent comments such as (in panicky voice) "Don't lean on the door!!" "Don't pull yourself out by the roof" "Don't put your weight on the windscreen!!" and "Don't sit on the plastic sill!!"

I wish I had a video camera sometimes for the pure comedy value it brings!!

Hay, Thanks for the tips. I guess I will have to find the best method with loads of pratice. I have just be quoted 3200 in insurance on confused.com. As being so young and only 1 year driving experience is there anyway to get this down?

dont use confused.. lol confused have always quoted me silly prices, like 3k+ elephant have been by far cheapest for me (from 21yo)
