Hi thanks for all the tips. chinky chinky I have just had the two best days of my life.... I love it! I mastered the getting in, but still look like a twat getting out. I have to keep moving the seat backwards everytime i get out which is a pain. But worth it. Ash... I am 19 but had a few goes in my bro's old lotus a year ago as found that alright. But i know what you mean the vx does bite. I have already crapped my self, so taking it easy till get a bit more experience. Totally different to the MG, you enjoy driving with the vx. But i now have a problem, i have to change the driver's backside tyre as it has a lump. But can't find the locking nut, i read on here that it may be in the front but because the handle is off, i have tried pulling the wire towards the passengers side but it just wont open. I have seen it open when i got it so i no its not broken. Any ideas???

The handle can easily come off the clip thing. Head first into the pass footwell with a torch for some investigation!

as above the handle should just clip back in to the holder. if its stiff/struggles to open try gettign someone to press down a bit on the bonnet just where the wiper motor part is. the bonet catch could be a bit stiff/stuck so get them to push down and pull up a bit as you pull on the handle towards the pass side.

£3500 for insurance not bad???!?!?!??? its a quater the value of the car!

Think id be resisting a vx until i had a couple more years no claims! Ive always stuck to the rule of never pay more than £1000 for insurance, even thats too much IMO.

I was paying 250 a month for 10 months just for a mgtf so for extra money to drive a vx well worth it. The wire that hooks on to the handle to open the bonnet only has one little bit of wire the rest has been snapped. so do not want to risk snapping it all off, so i guess ill be best taking it to garge. I just hope after all this the locking nut is in the bonnet.
