I love Autoglym interior shampoo as well, gives a nice matt finish to the plastics as opposed to the repulsive shiny sticky effect created by silicone based products

I did a test of Mer/Autoglym some time ago with 50% of the car bonnet polished with each. Basically they were almost identical in shine and the length of time that the shine lasted. On that basis Mer wins for ease of application against the labour intensive Autoglym. In September 2003 Which magazine did a comparison of car polishes and neither Autoglym nor Mer fared particularly well when compared with the rest of the field. Best were Turtle Wax Colour Magic Plus and Halfords Colour Polish. I've heard it said that silicone based polishes such as Mer are a no no, but I don't know the basis is for such reservations. oblomov
