You could lose enough meat to make 295s work for sure. 288 should be possible too. You have TF ones Techie? Its a bit more messing than I expected.

Yep, had a couple of TF calipers in the garage since Vocky first figured out they'd fit.

I thought I'd invented it...but then you search... Mind I am doing it a bit differently! FYI These calipers were £107 delivered.

I bought two sets initially, a really manky pair for somewhere around the £100 mark. Then spotted a brand new set which where actually branded AP Racing instead of MG for £240, I think it was. When it all looked too complicated, I flogged the new pair and assigned the manky ones to one of the box of bits (along with a set of RS4 8-pots  ) that seemed like a good idea/bargain at the time of purchase. Story of my life. :beat:

Well done... so yet another MG/Rover part makes its way into the VX.

Only once John's sorted out the missing cross bolts though, which I've no idea how you can get around.

Yuo could locate a new one sitting at the top between the two pistons, similar to the EP caliper: http://www.elisepart...4-pot-calipers/

I had these machined to use brackets, like the original kits for the vx220. The main difference being the cross bolts are on the rear of the MGTF calipers, so you need to remove the cross bolts, bolt the caliper on and then refit the cross bolts.

I don't think it would be possible to sink the mounting bolts, below the cross bolts, similar to mine

Ooh...they look nicer in "New". I have three plans actually. 1) Drill the inside cross bolts through from opposite side and counterbore, helicoil the existing clearance bore, bolt from opposite side. 2) Cross bolt inbetween the existing holes. 3) Make and fit a bridge piece from alu billet. Drill the caliper radially in the centre of the two flats, bolt with countersunk M8. (This would have to be removed to change pads) Actually I'm leaning towards 3, in my head it would be better supported than (2) and easier than (1). Of course option 4 would be use only 2 cross bolts, but this would affect stiffness a little.

Been busy:-
Machined 2nd side to same as first.
Machined flats for capheads on both:-

Cleaned up the caliper under the pads guides (stainless plates).
Ordered new pins. £10 for 4 / ebay.

Trial fitted. Positioning is perfect - all pad will touch disk, disk equidistant to each side of caliper. Interestingly the pistons arent symetrically placed about the centreline - presumably to make wear even. I have no idea what i'm pointing at!

They are just Mini Cooper s calipers and some spacers. That's it?
