I looked into the possibility to put the supercharger on the 2.2l but. I will need to use Courtenay's injectors and map sensor :( and there is a chance that they can not read and keep my previously map from regelin. I will stick with the plan than and already have to solve some trouble. how to modify or by pass the anti-theft system... :beat: I think I found most of the parts that I will need but still looking for better pricing. $396 Balance shaft deletion $153 Gasket kit includes head bolts head, intake and exhaust gaskets $4 Harmonic balancer bolt $51 Fasteners for the main girdle $220 high flow injectors 60lb (includes wiring harness) $500 Hpt $680 forged pistons 10:1 CR $140 supertech valve springs $498 comp cams Can I get better prices ?

Well that's without the retainers, with titanium retainers $400 @ IPG-Supertech.com

you need the titanium retainers if you wish to fit double valve springs, but if you don't plan on going past 7000 rpm then save your money thumbsup ps: you need different oil seals too for double valve springs, the standard ones have a spring seat included whereas you need ones without the spring seats. Any decent engine rebuilders/ gasket stockist can supply them.

I wish I understood half/some/any of the engine talk here - what's a good way to learn?

Ask Vocky for his help in changing an air filter. Before you know it, the engine is out and in pieces, being lightened and strengthened. Any extraneous bits and pieces are rapidly heading for the bin and all of a sudden anything seems possible. :D

$396 Balance shaft deletion
$153 Gasket kit includes head bolts head, intake and exhaust gaskets
$4 Harmonic balancer bolt
$51 Fasteners for the main girdle

$220 high flow injectors 60lb (includes wiring harness)
$500 Hpt
$680 forged pistons 10:1 CR
$140 supertech valve springs
$498 comp cams

You wanted to keep that 2,2 Regelin map for when you convert back to standard? (Did it bring much anyway? It might be that there is better 2,2 mapping available in a few months.)
The needed Z20LET injectors you can probably also buy cheap from turbo guys who have uprated. Leaves only the Courtenay mapping and some conversion bits you need anyway...

But to the other plan:

With HP-Tuners you can just switch off the Vehicle Anti Theft Systen, so that is solved. (I really should recommend the HPT Pro version, as that has datalogging capabilities and you can also connect a wideband signal to this. Makes tuning much easier.) You probably need to switch off a lot of other things we don't have, like aircon etc.

Can I buy 2 of your credits when you're finished with your HPT-Pro?

On the Z22SE.co.uk forum you will find a DIY balancer delete for a lot less. And also lots of info on SC conversions.
Will send you the LSJ wiring schematics.

I wanted to keep the actual map because I will put that engine on my zafira. the regelin map didn't bring much except for allowing the engine to rev to 7000rpm. how much do the z20let injectors flow ? Thanks for the tips Exmantaa. that sounds good. chinky chinky seems like you really figured a few things out. I don't know exactly yet how the credit thing works but, no problem. Vocky, my plan is to rev to 7000 - 7500 I haven't finish thinking about it yet but I know that I don't want to rely on the boost (no plans to change the supercharger pulley) and I'd like to spend as less as possible. so may be I should do the head porting, remove balance shaft Z20let injectors?? and HPT And keep the rest for later.... It would be nice already to have the LSJ engine in the VX (apparently GM under rates their engines?) If I can get to 260hp with just these mods than I can take my time to reach 300hp.

you don't need 60# injectors for 300bhp, you'll better stick with the GM stage 2 42 ones which have the good spray pattern...

I do like to tinker with vx220's

just wish I can get mine finished, but there's always another mod to do, perhaps I should stop thinking of 'cunning plans' :P

Zezino,

Good to see another person doing a full engine rebuild, I wish I had the balls to do the same! I don't know whether you are familiar with the GM Racing website, but they have an invaluable and insightful e-book about tuning ecotecs upto 1500 BHP. The link is here

This book if you read it thoughly will show you what parts to use and specific BHP outputs. Loads of other useful build tips/stuff as well.

Nev.
