Is it because your ashamed to drive a vauxhall or is it that you don't like badges? Do you take the labels off your Levis jeans or only you Asda George ones? As I said just curious B)

Not that proud of the V'hall badge myself (though they are improving - the new Astra gets a thumbsup from me). I know it shouldn't make any difference but it does.... I think the rear looks cleaner without a badge, the front looks cleaner without the V (badge on its own looks ok)... Those are my reasons...... screw anybody else :9mm: :P

Totally agree! Mine is an Opel and I would have bought it if it was a Kia as well. If you really are concerned about the badge, buy a Porsche or similar. Terrific cars a a nice badge! Myself I do not give a p***ss!

I want to do it because I find them intrusive. The car has a look which I believe is ruined (from the rear) by the big gryffin and I dont like the VX220 font. Basically I like the clean uncluttered lines of the car and the badges look fussy.

Half the fun of driving the car is the perversity that it is a vauxhall! :) I've taken the front badge/V off as the 'black hole' look is a bit more racey to my eye and certainly an improvement over that awful silver V. However, in recent weeks the novelty is starting to wear off and i shall put it back either via the JaseMK 'spray ithe V black' route or buy a black VXR one if they'll let me. Definitly needs something to fill the hole but I can't justify the Steinmetz and that silver V looks really crappy. I haven't removed the rear badges though, just sprayed them black to match the black sports exhaust. The usual reason to debadge cars is part of a larger smoothing of the cars looks (or if you have a 318i), a bit max-power tho. People who are really serious about de-vauxhalling their VX will have to remove the ones from the steering wheel and wheel centres. Ben

Same reasons as TT said Because the rear badge is the size of a dinner plate. Its looks much better without. I haven't removed the V yet, but as soon as a decent grill comes out thats doesn't cost about £350+ quid, Il'll be doing that.

By kia, you mean Lotus? :poke:

Seriously though its about the lines, its got bugger all to do with the manufacturer. I wouldnt dream of removing the centre bosses from the alloys or the one on the steering wheel cos they dont affect the aesthetics of the car.

ahh, so they have come down then.

Still far too much though. If they ever come down to a reasonable about like £100 I might be interested then as I do think they look cool as fcuk. Until there is competition I suppose they have no reason to alter the price.

Does it replace the whole front bumper? Or just the grill?

I can never work it out from that bright yellow pic.

I do not believe that many of the 'cleaner lines' brigade would remove ferrari or Lamborghini badges from the VX, so I am sure theres an element that the Vauchall badge devalues the aspirational qualities of teh VX a little. I agree, as I can't think of a less aspirational brand than Vauxhall, but like some others I quite enjoy the perversity of tooling round in a mini supercar with a Vauxhall badge on it ! Its sort of the opposite of debadging and up-wheeling a 318I to look like a 330 isn't it ? Each to their own though, they're lovely cars with or without the badges.

Removing the badges is purely aesthetic. Mine are on at the moment because on a silver car they blend in OK. Don't like the big V at the front (very clumsily done) and would rather have the Opel Blitz approach, but can't really be bothered removing the clam yet to change it. The badges at the rear will get removed as they annoy me when it comes time to clean and wax the car. Might put stickers on instead. It's all just branding at the end of the day. We all know that the VX is made in Hethel on the line next to the Elise by Lotus - so does that make it a Lotus? By the same token - Lotus are owned by Proton, so I guess that really makes it a Proton.... Who cares? It's just a fcuking nice car to drive when the suns out..... End of story. :groupjump:

Ferrari badges are not the size of plates and they don't stick huge silver V's on the front of the car.

Agreed, Ferrari badges are generally done very tastefully, and there is no need to remove them. I can however make an exception, I can't remember what Ferrari it was, could have been the 360, it was a new one anyway. They have these horrible big Ferrari stickers on the side of the car under the side repeaters (anyone know what I mean?). I would most deffinetly take them off if I was a Ferrrari owner. So in answer to Bobs question, yes I would remove the badges from a Ferrari if they spoiled the car. :D

Anyway yes I am thinking about taking off the badges, I think they are to big and spoil the lines of the car. I'll replace the front grill also.

If I didn't want people to think I drive a Vauxhall, I wouldn't have bought one so I don't mind, i'm not a badge snob. :D
