probably worth a quick call to Chris , as there are rc7 as well, but with a race pad the noise can be unreal

A RC5 is more like a RS42 but stable with temp when the 42 will fade the RC5+ apparently has a higher friction coeff, so would be close to a RC6 which is somewhere between a RS14 and 15 (don't know the 15 very well, but I'm using the RC6 for about 2 years now and had RS14 before) don't know the RC7 and RC8 but think they will have too much bite for A048s

Cheers Will give Chris a call Monday but I'm leaning towards the Rc6. Not too worried about noise (within reason), the rs14's can be noisy but is easily sorted with a couple of heavy stops.

Just bought RC5+ for fronts and rears from Hoffmans, spoke to Martin. Real nice chap. Going there tomorrow morning to collect them. £207 quid all in. Looking forward to trying them!

The RC6 compound is great on track for the heavier cars although too aggressive for a 750kg elise or similar, I use the RC6 on my race car. The downside of any of the race compound is the squeal which is much worse than any pad I've ever known. The RC5+ cures the squeal issue admirably and still has incredible performance so this is the only compound we recommend for road use.

Haven't tracked with mine yet but on road they are impressive. Once warm they brake extremely well, firm pedal (probably due to the very thick backing on the pad they have), no noise at all, either when cold, warm or hot. Can take a while to warm up on the road, but this does not make them dangerous when cold, at all. On track, I can imagine they get to working temp fairly well and once there, only improve on performance. When they're warm they feel firmer to press and brake effort is reduced. When hot, be careful with the pedal, once you press it, you'll stop, and quickly too. With these pads, I do not see why you need to upgrade calipers or have larger discs etc, these are really very good pads.
