Is the flange stainless on these ones? Noticed on a few other cars that have these have rusted on the flange area. DG

What sort of improvement can we expect to get, or is it just aesthetic?

Dump valve. thumbsup

So does a proper dump valve have to be attached here or will this mod produce the same noise effect without buying anything extra? [not technically minded as you can tell, although I do fancy a nice dump valve spit off sound]

EDIT: just answered my own question by visiting the lotus carlton link above. Seems an extra pipe and a dump valve is required (thought so). Anyone fitted a DV then and if so which one, is it a decent sound, what does it require parts-wise and do they present any issues (I know Thorney advise against them: "the VX220 Turbo's Turbocharger has an internal re-circulation valve. Replacing this with an External Dump Valve or VTA Dump Valve drops power and can cause irregular engine firing")

Do we state when ordering whether we want the take off pipe? If not how is this closed up?

By looking at the pics just put your name on the list then say whether you would like one with or without the DV takeoff

how do you figure that out? mine has run perfectly fine like this for months. the only difference is that it will probably be sending a bit more air through the AMM, can't see how that will kill it really.

I think, from what I understand, is that the oil from the filter can kill the AMM - so in theory a dry filter element (eg paper or foam) would not cause any problems

I can only assume that an over oiled filter would cause problems...

cheers, i suppose that could make sense, if the filter was blathered in oil. mine is oiled and have experienced no problems yet, will see how it goes.........
