Would it be advantageous to have a gasket between the inlet manifold and the top hat? This would reduce heat transfer to the tophat.

I'll make the payment today, only one is still missing... @Boss VX: Tbh, I think that will do no difference as the heat (through convection) will reach the tophat nonetheless. So you don't need an extra gasket, it's just extra weight...

Plus you will have conduction through the studs / bolts whether you use a gasket or not.

there is an o-ring around the throttle body so no need for a gasket, i fitted mine last night from the same place thats doing the group buy ones, its an easy job, id put the hose on before bolting it down as its easier and dont do what i did and drop one of the nuts down the side of the engine and on to the undertray, made the job 5 times longer having to rescue it
