You're all girls ;-)

/Pats 369bhp @ the hubs

Who's Pat?

He has a cat called Jess

(i have no idea who pat is but i though i would drop that in)

If Pat is a friend of his then I wonder what he drives himself? No mention of his own car so I'm wondering who's the girl now. He probably has a Ford Streetka or similar! :groupjump:

Bl00dy 'ell Danny you've only had the car two minutes. Sounds like you've spent more time modifying it than driving it thumbsup

Chris that is a step up from the k04 turbo options lol

Can't see that been nice in the wet of a bumpy B road :D - like getting rear ended by a bus at high speed when that has spooled up :P - take that back bet it's great :D

DG

Take it your running a diff in the M32 box now?

You would be surprised... there is no spooling up whatsoever, just drives like a very quick NA car. Will post a video up when I work out how to stop the vibrations from the engine shaking the sh** out of the camera mount.

Have you changed the mounts for the engine then? other than the usual poly bottom option ones :D

Look forward to seeing the clip :)

Be interesting to see how it deals with that power if there is no diff

DG

There is a lot to be said for enjoying and using a car and not modding it within an inch of its life :D maybe I should take my own advice lol

I'm running an ATB now and also some much up-rated engine mounts. The ATB has taken some setting up but it does improve traction no end.

At least it is fit and forget :) thougth you would have gone hardcore with a plate LSD

Is it just the astra fwd spec one or have you had any changes made? I looked into it but felt that although the std fwd spec would be an improvement for the cost I would want it specific to car and do not have the cost or time to play - which can be said for any diff LSD included - can only do so many calcs and really needs R&D.

Mine little 305bhp can be contained by sticky tyres :D unlike yours lol

Currently I run the normal ramp angles in the diff, same as 95% of the ATB's out there, but then I'm running slicks now. For road use and use with road legal tyres I would recommend going for the shallower ramp they developed for the Caterfields etc. What I've found is the car requires a different geo to get the car to turn in with the diff but the lap times improve quite dramatically due to the extra time on the throttle it allows. Give me a shout if you're ever interested in one.

Danny you get used to whatever power you have but glad the car is running well :) I never had tyre grip issues even with my spec? I imagine on a loose service it would spin them up but only the wet does mine. Even on road tyres when I ran them? In fact even full bore launches only drag the rear to 1 side a bit Maybe it is my 14stone butt in the car LOL now full throttle in low gears out of tight bends is different :D DG

DG

What tyres are you on?
I undertook a car that was going too slow in my area last night on the way home,I pulled away from traffic lights at normal speed in 1st ,changed into 2nd and plodded behind him for a bit & then thought "get the fcuk off the road doing 20mph in a 40 zone" & nailed the throttle in 2nd & the tyres were still spinning as I pulled past him but as you said I suppose I flicked the wheel to over/undertake & planted at the same time which probably caused the majority of wheelspin.
It just felt so aggressive as it would never of spun the wheels like that before! :tt:
I love it!!

wot power were u running before then? i dont think anyone cant be anything but impressed and almost pretty shocked at any vx thats runn 270hp+, makes the car accelerate so instantly from low revs! problem is when u have had stage4 vx and eventually move onto something else, wot cars are gonna give the same feeling??? without a huge price tag?!?! thats my problem! lol i sometimes think about going for more than my 291hp, by going for internal engine mods and turbo etc, but reastically on the road your gonna be pretty unfortunate to come across anything as fast as 290hp vx, and even with stage 4 they are as reliable as any other car so y risk going for more power and making car maybe more unreliable! i am a stage 4 lover:-) courtney are vx gods, lol

2 fast 2 furious.........................:P With an open diff I find the car will pull more to one side once traction is regained or it is fighting for traction. Running R888's but never had a problem on T1R's either. In fact I was talking to Nev about wheelspin in our cars and could not work out why people get it? I cetainly have a respect for all vx's as they WILL bite but find you can launch really hard with no real drama. Could be as simple as not warming up tyres, different makes, suspension setups??????? Get it on track and enjoy the new found power ;) DG

After speaking to John @ CS I will by next year go down that route. I'm not going to go mental...just going for steel rods, forged pistons, pair of cams,AET Turbo & manifold & an M32 6 speed box. That should be plenty without it being undriveable.
Definately going for suspension & a good Geo first though!
