Yeah. very powerful and seems well worth the money if you've got a supported ECU and have a vague understanding of how not to break things.

credit system would allow us to buy once, flash many times for that model / year

Siztenmotorsports Ltd - coming to a roundabout near you, soon. :D Seriously though, it's quite a neat way to do it, although it would probably start getting expensive if your name was DuncanVXR and were forever tweaking things and needing to top up your credits. Still, a hell of a lot cheaper than going to traditional tuner every other month though. I guess it's effectively what MarkV's mate in Holland is ultimately going to try to do for the Z22SE ecu - once he'd developed the software to do it.

no I think once you paid thats it for your ecu , or for that group of ecu if you go for that option. So once I've got the SW, you lot get the tuning for free. I would go for the pro module anyway as it has blackbox datalogging of everything.

tuning guide for LNF here :

Don't know what you all mean :P I am happy with the standard setup of the vx220! - ok maybe not in my car LOL There will be a midlands full mapping service coming soon for the vxt ecu ;)

ffs steve, catch up, we only knew about most of this a year ago or more  hee hee @ high pressure fuel... its still only 50bar or so, rather amateur compared to derty compression ignition pumps.

it will be annoying stuff like coolant hoses that will be a hybrid arrangement. Would be nice to see the downpipe to compare

I guess the hoses went to different places on the turbo...

Z22SE -> LE5 was pretty easy though.

I basically cut the heater hose and spliced the engine-mounted oil cooler in, then just clamped in a bit of pipe to go where the old oil cooler would have gone... Or you could probably fit the original oil cooler with very little engineering - you'd just need a thickish ally plate with holes tapped for the two pipes...

One cool thing about the LNF is the throttle body is below the manifold, not at the bottom. Easier and much cleaner intake piping with CC/VXT intercooler on our cars :)

The first page of this thread ccould have been written on codex for all I know... So does the Cobalt or Ion superchrged engine bolt into the VX220 NA?

yes you could almost use existing CC to TB and Turbo to CC pipes but running flow in reverse

how much of the ancillary devices could you remove from the belt path , aircon, power steering, tensioner

well most of the above refers to the turbo charged, but there is also a turbo and supercharged option. generally though we are hopign it could be an easy install and the ecu has good proven tools to use for mapping yourself.

set up is essentially the same as the z22se, so you can ditch everything but the alternator and tensioner

Mine had aircon and power steering previously. Literally just buy a Vx220 Z22SE belt and put it on between the main pulley and the alternator, without the other bits. You'd still want the tensioner as the alternator is attached to the block so you can't move it to increase the tension.

You *may* need a new main pulley with less ribs on the belt. I'm not sure.

Beat me to it! good spot about the LAT.
IMO That'd be a pretty interesting mod for a normal VX220 given a decent control unit. An instant extra few brake horse power :)

Physically, yes (well, certainly the SC'd version).

But wouldn't you need an aftermarket ECU to run it due to the cam sensor and trigger wheel pattern which is different to the Z22SE? Might be possible to re-use their OEM ecu as well but you'd need to be able to get it to talk to the Stack and it might also barf at not having a CAN setup in the VX (the HP Tuners software _might_ let you disable the requirement for any external CAN modules - dunno).

In the colonies they've been inserting Ecotec motors of one form or another into the Exige for a while now. Wonder why?
