the X25xe/X30XE's etc are of the same ilk as the saab engines.

small package, fairly narrow V so revving is off the cards, but cheap and pleantiful.
F/I the bitch and you will be laughing (although S/C would be wiser than turbos for packaging reasons)


:lol: @ trying to work a GB out for a massive conevrsion simply to blag the costs down.... cant beat that kind of chancing :P


The X25/30 are cast iron blocks, bit weighty!


was under the impression they were ali, never mind im sure the saab variant is ali


are they not 60 degree V angle , or some horrible VW abortion



they arent I6's if thats what you are implying with a VW comment :P ;)

The X25/30 are 54 deg V I believe or something stupid.

you do realise the Caral build themselves a whole entire new chassis to house the V8 beast?! I toyed with the 3.6 V6 from the Passat R36 as it has a "V" angle of like 30 degrees and would probably sqeeze into the VX transversely mounted. however. why mess around changing the entire dynamic of the car when it is so good already?
