any updates on this subject???????

It's in sort of a standoff now i think.
The dutch remap has had about 10 cars done over here now.
Some of them have had markv's DL1 readout around 200, but no dyno has been done.
I am waiting for the 2.0 testing to complete at clastres, so i have the fast throttlerespons.
2.0 also includes stationairy fuel regulation, stationairy rev and starting the cooling fan at 98c.
1.0 is the remap, disabeling the egr and the rev up to 7.000 (blocks now at 7050 i think)

He's also working on the 68mm throttlebody, as he noticed a change in vacuum at 4000 rpm that could be fixed with the 68mm.

Looks like it's a "can't be done; show me the dynoplots" over here, versus "YIHAA" over in NL.

Last week i begged a ride with a mapped speedster, and bascily noticed a more linear pull towards 7000, where as my car with just the 2.4 and no remap, sort of hits a point at about 4250 where it notices the extra breathing, and can utilise it. The fun stops at 6000, where i need to shift. Doing that at 7.000 creates a lot of fun i can tell you.

I see similar, 2.4, Milltek and no remap, 3-4k is good but 4k+ it pulls like train and then the fun police jump in at 6k.
For the moment I'm happy with the performance but is it possible to just raise just the limiter without going for the whole remap process?

I read the above and was going to say "my car was just like that" when I looked again and found it was my car! When it went on the RR (you have the graphs Bargi) I found the power graph just went straight up at 45 degrees with a cut at the limiter. The RR guy said that there was probably 10bhp to be unlocked just by raising the limiter and what a pity it cut in to spoil the fun! I reckon if it went to Courtenay's to have the limit raised and the rest of the map optimising (especially fuel air ratio at 4000rpm), it would come out with about 165bhp.

If you read vocky's comment in the thread op page 2, it looks like the TMS 2.4 remap with the manifold can bring you the same result as we have. Maybe TMS can bring the rev up to 7k also.

Mark: as every time… highly interesting points from our dutch friends :) The higher power figures of your community, do they have any mods on the head done as well or on the throttlebody? In a different topic you have noticed, that the engines all run to lean for the power output. Is this solved with this 1.0 map? And at last… all tuner variants have in common that they "tune" the valve first - to give their customers the feel of a better throttle response…. I have such a version already… is it possible to get the last version of yours with the valvetune together and when do you think will the 2.0 be available ?

No modifications to head or throttlebody.

When you properly map the ECU it will not be running lean. So when you map the
ECU with Peter's software, it will be running at the AFR you want.

I don't think I've seen any changes made to the throttle valve settings on
other mapped cars. However, if you improve the base map of the ECU it won't
need to make huge adjustments with the fuel trims. It will get the amount of
fuel correct almost directly. That will give you an improved response, because
combustion is correct without having to wait for the feedback from the lambda
sensor to make corrections.

If you want to see the difference in throttle valve response possible with
Peter's application, look at this youtube video:

I don't know about availability. Work is progressing VERY nicely. I'm impressed
by the speed Peter is discovering things and making improvements. For a current
list of implemented features, see this page:

It will give an idea of the current status and what is being done.

Stop teasing us Mark and tell Peter to find a way to sell his solution to the UK. :( :D

very nice features Mark... very very nice Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

I think I finish the installation work of the 2.4 hardware this weekend. In case of poor running... would it be possible to get an appointment with Peter for flashing my ECU in a few weeks? I would visit your lovely country (with the mad "drempels" ;) ) and would combine some holidays with the flash-job.

It should be the first VX/Speedy with a full 4-1-Komotec-Exhaustmanifold and 2.4 intake...

Don't know, you would have to contact Peter about that.. But I think he would want to finish the NA modifications before sending it abroad. Would be tricky otherwise to give you an update..
