They just didn't work for me. I had a good firm pedal but it felt like Ice Mode had kicked in and whenever I needed brakes, they simply were not there. First two or three laps were OK then the pad just heated up and ceased to work.

Put the Pagids in and sorted, no issues at all.

Were they the old style or new style?

New style I guess, don't really know, they came from Camskill about a month ago.

any idea how the CL5+ guys went?

I found them brilliant out there on the track and kept finding myself braking earlier than I needed to and having to come off the brakes much too soon. One of the fronts (nearside, I think) has developed the rattle from hell though.

I'm hoping they will suit my slightly less gung ho style of driving then :P, I know you like to... put the car through its paces...!

I found 1155 better than 1144 on road and track. Much better wear rate along with less noise and dust. Fine from cold. Had I still got the car I was going to try the CL5 next.

I have never used CL5's, but I have used 1155 and as others have said they are a great pad and work ok from cold. They also have a good life and if fitted correctly do not squeal too much.

Steve.

Hallo

what can i do to get them non squeiki? min just eating in to my ears, even in warm condision, thinking about swaping them right now, but if i can get the squeiking out them i would be hapy whith them rallly

I ordered some Mintex M1144 and received them yesterday, but I received M1155 front and M1144 rears, before I make a phone call to the supplying company would this be a good combination?? as I have got the M1155 at the M1144 price

If you're tracking then defiantly sell off the 1144s on here or fleabay and then get yourself a rear pair of 1155s

Use them hard. My 1155s are silent (on plain discs).

My RS 29s (i think, the yellow endurance) on the race car are silent (used very hard). I fitted them to another car and I can play a tune by modulating the pedal, bloody annoying.

For your use you'll notice no braking benefit from 1155s over 1144s
I'd say go 1144s then you defiantly won't get pad squeal. I'm running 1155, first pair were dead quiet, second pair squeak a bit coming to a stop.
If I had a car I wasn't tracking squeaking brakes would p*ss me off.

Have you put anti squeal pads on the back of the pads? http://www.elisepart...-brake-buffers/
The other thing I do is stick lots of copper grease around the back and corners of the pads.

imho the 1155's are fine on the road as they last atleast twice as long as 1144's and brake nearly the same :) (better when hot) I'd love to use 1144's but they only lasted me 9 months (15Kmiles) so from that outlook were very expensive pads per mile, my 55's have done 15K and have barely half worn. And the PFB 97's before that had done nearly 40K (2yrs) and still had a good 10-15K left in them

They should be run in in the first hard stops. I get the car to 60mph and brake hard to 30mph and then give them a chance to cool again and then repeat 4 times. You will find it hard to heat the pads up enough on the roads to get them to perform like they do after a track day. I hope they stop squeaking enough for you not be be annoyed with them. :) Steve

Get the shims then use copper grease on the backs and on the side lobes where it touches the metal of the caliper and hopefully it'll stop doing it
