I rang them a couple of months ago about the MO's & the very helpful chap I spoke to said they were considering producing the vx220 sizes & offsets when the new MO came out later this year. He said to try them again around September for more details as that was when he thought they'd be ready. I asked about the design & differences from the group buy ones (I was ringing to see if they'd make me these initially) & he described that the new MO's would be "a far less agricultural wheel than the current version". So I expressed my interest saying I prefer a 5 spoke design as imho it suits the car better than the multi-spoke TD's. Will wait & see what comes out from them soonish then...

As it happens I have emailed Compomotive today requesting price, whether they will be available to fit our cars and release date? If they appear to be a viable wheel, I think I'll swap to these and sell my TD's.

OEM

10.5kg front

our Forum has weighed them with 9,5 in the middle

've done a quick search and it seems:

Speedlinealikes-

8kg front
10kg rear
36kg total

this is not the whole truth, as the tires for the 16" -Solution are also much heavier than the stock ones due to the fact of higher circumference.

I might be in the minority here but i always felt that the steering weight and feel of the car was nicer on my NA with 17's and ggod geo the the VXR with the 16 fronts.....

To be honest, I don´t know how it is to drive with a 16" front, but we have also to take into account, that there might be some troubles with the ABS? Do we have to change the ABS-System with a Toyo-Elise one? Otherways I would like a 17"-Set the most, if I could manage the TÜV-Approval also

Just got an email back from Compomotive. I am going to check what the et's were for my TD's and place an order for the same et on Compomotive. Et's work fine on my TD's so I am reluctant to change et. Is there anyone on here that has any suggestions that I should not buy these wheels??? Below is the info copied and pasted from Compomotive: X2 MO1670 7x16 black finish & x2 MO1783 8x17 black finish £792.00 Normally on a new order i would quote 14-20 days approx , but taking the new production runs in consideration and the preparation that follows it would be fair to say in the region of 28 days approx. YOur wheels are bespoke and would be machined to match your VX220, no location rings or pcd adaptors etc will be required. You can even use your existing wheel nuts/bolts. With our previous fitments we have supplied et23 front and et35 rear. However we can adjust this to your own specification upon your request if you should require something different or if your car has been modified etc.

Bit of an understatement!

the speedlinealikes are very rough and ready, casting and finish was not the best quality on my set. Look good when moving though ;)

I MUCH prefer my car after the swap to 16" fronts I've never go back to 17".

ABS yes, you will likely have issues, however an Exige ABS ECU will fix it - see the groupbuy room, the group buy is over but the supplying dealer said he'd continue to honor the original price if I directed more people to him. The Exige ABS unit totally fixes the VX220 braking woes. Night and day difference.

Be interesting to see what you think of them when they come. What colour have you gone for?

I have ordered black. I don't normally like black wheels but I intend to liven them up with either getting the lip of the rim painted red to match my car or fitting some of these in red... http://alloygator.co.uk/home.asp

Any news on these yet , I would love to see a pic of a set on a VX . I've got the old style compomotives in siver on my VX ,I love how they look but am seriously tempted to shell out again for a set of these if the sizes and offsets are the same. When are the first ones due?

OMG, I really wish I had a VX again just so I could buy those wheels for it!!! If I still had my car, I would put those in place of the gloss black TD's. I'd go for satin black. Come on Bargi ... get yer wallet out :D

Hopefully mine should arrive in the next few weeks. Black and I am having the outer rim painted red prior to fitting. Can't wait. Anyone want to buy my 16/17 TD's (in silver) very good condition. No kerbing, no bends. Inc front Yoko A460's half worn. Paul

James sent me an image of the 17" ones last week, as they are now all ready

Still waiting for the 16" to be completed, any orders placed from now should have a 5-6 week turnaround time for the nearterm future :)
